I decided to try the MRA Vario Touring screen with adjustable diffuser, Thanks for the info TJEli  cooldude
I like the design/shape/size for the Valkyrie and it has plenty of adjustment room from almost vertical to way down low past the fork plane line. Also extra adjustment from the diffuser.
I like the quality and fit. I modified mine slightly for the fit I was looking for and also cut 4" off the ball joint bars for a cleaner look and I will never position it that far upright.

Off topic...I had the pleasure of needing to use the horn today. Holy Crap Batman, a Japanese motorcycle with a real man horn. Best stock horn I've ever had (unless it's not stock?)

Nope stock horns on this bike are awesome.  cooldude

Funny, 2 small things that give no end of satisfaction,

A real dipstick on my car

and

The horns on my Valk.

You will find that once you put the windshield on that most of the problem air will be air that comes over the tank around the gas tank cap. This is what causes turbulence and just hits you in the body. Stop this air and it feels like your riding a Wing.

The horn is a nice surprise to all who bought on of these .... Smiley   Wind management has been a struggle for me since day one . After tons of experimenting I am using Honda tall shield with a 2" spacer to tilt it back. Only thing that may be better is the Madstad . I have recommended it on previous bikes. I have one on my KLR & now three of my riding buddies run one . Next BIG thing on my wish list is a true cruise control!

Hot Rod,

I don't mean to hijack this thread - do a bit of searching on the forum.  You'll find a couple of discussions about installing a Rostra Cruise Control on your Valkyrie.  If you do, seriously consider swapping your throttle bodies for TBs off of a 1832cc Goldwing.  The Goldwing TBs have a "lost motion pulley" that, IMHO, is a "must" when a cruise control is installed (for safety reasons and general functionality).  I could be wrong.

Good luck!

allhans4,
Agreed, I was pleasantly surprised riding this bike with no shield, I believe the low saddle combined with the shape of the pods, the tank and dash being higher and the shape of the headlight kind of channel the air around you. It was quite enjoyable and my outer face shield was open even at freeway speeds. This is a tough looking hotrod, the shield kind of ugly's the bike up a bit. I will certainly run without in the hot Florida summer. I've either cut down or run shorty shields on all my bikes. If I was into long distance touring I may think otherwise.

I did take a bee strike in the eye this summer with my electric shorty shield full down on my Concours and face shield open. Swore I'd never do that again, then took a piece of sand in the same eye same day. Still prefer breathing in Florida heat over wind mitigation. Undecided
