When we've reached the point that saying "Amen" at the end of a prayer is sexist, and when Women's Fitness magazine has to apologize for fat shaming by posting about encouraging women to get out and exercise off those Christmas calories, we've left the path of wisdom as a people.

I'm convinced all the PC, SJW, woke, rewrite history, tear down statues, ban fossil fuels, desire for nanny state, rampant love of socialism is a result of multiple generations of having all the food and shelter and comfort they could ever need without having to work very hard for any of it.  Now fully embraced and hard sold by education from kindergarten to doctoral thesis.

People have to have serious time on their hands (living pretty comfortably) to make this utterly screwball moronic stuff up. (instead of hunting and gathering to survive each day)

And with enough of them, it's turned into a contest as to who can make the most screwball stuff up of all.

Socialism and communism really started up as an idea in a time when giant masses of people (the proletariat) had nothing, starved all the time, worked for pennies, and had no hope of a better life.  This sounded like a good idea to those poor souls, and who could blame them?  So they signed up, and got enslaved and murdered under their overlords, worse than monarchy ever did.

So we spend a hundred plus years of hard work, industrial revolution, living wages, exponentially increasing technology, manufacturing, production, crops, homes, transportation, communication, health, and develop representative governments, and create a vast middle class of healthy and happy former proletariat...... and this is the reward?

God may not have forgotten us, but he is too busy laughing his ass off to do anything about it.   And do we actually deserve any help?  In truth, it's hard to understand why he would waste any time on us at all.

LOL!  I'm not sure I would place it that recently.  The mere promotion for U.S. Presidency of a junior senator with little or no experience was already the result of a departure from wisdom.

I will say I am strongly convinced that "we" were on a path of wisdom with the founding fathers and continued to be so long as we followed the documents and Constitution that they developed.

I'll piss some people off but I believe strongly that includes the slaveholders among that wise and patriotic group.  One of my ancestors arrived as an indentured servant.  I don't think that would be proper today but it served a purpose in those times and resulted in American immigrant blood that has flowed down into my veins.  Perhaps slavery in those times fits a similar mold.

I would suggest that we as a nation were on the right path until approximately post WWII.   Wasn't long after that we baby boomers came into this world and things started going down here from there.

sound familiar?? history repeats only the names have been changed.  Who is/are today's Mao?

Is America on the edge of a cultural revolution?

The historical namesake and obvious parallel is the Cultural Revolution in China, which lasted from 1966 to 1976. Its stated goal was to purge capitalist and traditional elements from society, and to substitute a new way of thinking based on Mao’s own beliefs. The epic struggle for control and power waged war against anybody on the wrong side of an idea.

To set the mobs on somebody, one needed only to tie him to an official blacklist like the Four Olds (old customs, culture, habits, and ideas). China’s young people and urban workers formed Red Guard units to go after whomever was outed. Violence? Yes, please. When Mao launched the movement in May 1966, he told his mobs to “bombard the headquarters” and made clear that “to rebel is justified.” He said “revisionists should be removed through violent class struggle.” The old thinkers were everywhere and were systematically trying to preserve their power and subjugate the people.

Whetted, the mobs took the task to heart: Red Guards destroyed historical relics, statues, and artifacts, and ransacked cultural and religious sites. Libraries were burned. Religion was considered a tool of capitalists and so churches were destroyed—even the Temple of Confucius was wrecked. Eventually the Red Guards moved on to openly killing people who did not think as they did. Where were the police? The cops were told not to intervene in Red Guard activities, and if they did, the national police chief pardoned the Guards for any crimes.

The Cultural Revolution destroyed China’s economy and traditional culture, leaving behind a possible death toll ranging from one to 20 million. Nobody really knows. It was a war on the way people think. And it failed. One immediate consequence of the Revolution’s failure was the rise in power of the military after regular people decided they’d had enough and wanted order restored.
