4 people were killed.

One person was murdered (the female vet), the other three died of medical conditions.  Unless you consider them as suicides, they weren't killed.

(You must have been watching/reading the news again.)

I don't know the specifics of the other 3. I don't know much about the lady either. But as an example. If a person were not in good shape and had a heart attack while hustling out of there, I would consider that part of a casualty report. Understanding the chaos of yesterday from my recliner is difficult. But I have seen a pic of some of the congressmen, women, and their staff up in the balcony hunkered down. One lady looked scared to the point of a heart attack. I would also consider something like that to be in a casualty report.

I read that one of them tazed himself, leading to a heart attack.

Supposedly ? You aren't also buying into the theory that they were Antifa disguised as Trump supporters ?

Well, yes.  Not all but primary instigators are more than possible.  Don't tell me that you're dismissing supposedly because you have either seen all the evidence or are jumping to a conclusion without bothering with all the evidence.  You aren't still just buying what the media is feeding you, the media that has lied to you over and over and over again?

Her head was barely through a broken window when SHE was shot at close range in the neck.  She was unarmed.  Where was the threat?  Where was the justification?  This was not a person killed by rioters.  This was a person killed by a wrongful LEO.

She gave fourteen years in service to her country, something you did not do in the least.

My respect for the Rules of the Road prevent my expressing my personal feelings here.  I would be very pleased if you left my message board at this time never to return.  You have certainly stepped way over the line.

The actual shooting that shows police with assault rifles escorting her which is so much different than the news stories portray.

It's a damn shame that anyone lost their life during this peaceful protest.  But I have to wonder what the reaction of BLM would have been, had the victim had been black?

I'm not telling you anything. You believe what you want to believe. These rioters have their faces splattered all over Facebook, YouTube, etc. They will likely be found in short order who they are. I remember you also didn't believe the guy in Charlottesville didn't purposely kill that girl. Your track record on right and wrong leaves a little to be desired.

The video I saw was not redacted or edited and shows the murder much more clearly.

Probably not 1st degree, but easily 2d degree.  An intentional killing, without premeditation, but with no lawful justification.  A complete ambush of an unarmed woman trespassing (and she'd been trespassing for quite some time at this point with no evidence of her doing violence or harm to anybody).

I would be very pleased if you left my message board at this time never to return.

I second that motion, and move for (almost) unanimous consent.

The fact remains that nobody should have breached into the Capitol in session  The death was regrettable.  An officer believing he is entitled to do it under castle doctrine I have a hard time second guessing the officer. Why did she do it as well? To use the bathroom (there were almost no portapotties)

There could have been bombs on person of any one or more of those who unlawfully gained entry

It was not an unlawful mob when it started, at what point did it morph I dont know?

It was a peaceful march from one rally point to another as citizens walked from the ellipse down Pennsylvania Avenue.  It was a long march after a cold morning.  I only saw what i saw but I can say while walking near 16th Ave I observed a large group shouting anti Trump slogans and they were NOT on the same road as the others and they had Trump slogans and flags. Where they came from was NOT the morning demonstration for certain as we were already well away from the White House almost up to Federal Circle  Perhaps they were bussed in? and got to the Capitol ahead of many to rile up the crowds,

Those who defaced and defiled are as bad as those who riot and kill in the name of antifa and blm

We may find out SOME were those, but I am inclined to believe not ALL were

A peaceful morning will forever be viewed in a different light

Shame on the capitol police  Only they had jurisdiction of the building, not dc police and not the fbi and secret service detail for VP in the capitol not expected to be adequate for the job presented yesterday

I had to get us back to the Hotel by 3 and we just made it.  It would have been another $50 for parking otherwise.....   We felt safe at all times, as I said in my video the overwhelming feeling in the crowd was love of country      it wasn't situational awareness warning me to leave.

Excluding my marriage and births of my kids, I would still rate it top 10 experiences of my life and so sad that it ended badly

Carl,

I saw your comment right after it was posted. I suspected it was written in anger with probably not a lot of thought or planning. I held off from replying for pretty much the same reason. Let cooler heads prevail and all that.

As far as the woman's death...I'd already done some research on her this morning, I knew she was a veteran. But understand, I was not belittling her status in any way, in mind or word. I thought the whole situation was horrible from start to finish. My feeling was that actions have consequences, and hers was final.

Yesterday was unbelievable, I don't think too many of us have ever seen anything like it.  I tell my wife all the time. "Sometimes you just need to rip off the scab" As crazy as it was, maybe some good will come out of all this.

So, I apologize for offending you in regards to her service. That was never my intention.

And as far as the nice guy thing, thanks, but would you talk to my wife sometime?

I don't remember ONE person on here defending unlawful rioting.

LOL!  As opposed to lawful rioting?   2funny

I believe what 3fan said was if one didn't denounce the week after week of destruction and rioting by one side he is not entitled to denounce the rioting supposedly attributed to the other side.

I agree with 3fan.

Hmmmm, remember this guy from Utah?  Wonder what he was doing inside the Capitol building? (I mean besides videoing Babbitt bleeding to death.)

I've made clear that we are being pushed toward violence and Civil War, however your perception that I have openly advocated for violence and War is just that, it's your perception. I've never said the words, only that I'm prepared for whatever comes.

We disagree.  There are some who sometimes reach to the levels that baldo lives in but only one who is worse.  I base that upon how often I have to remove a post based upon personal attack.  You and baldo are both capable of disagreeing respectfully.  I wish you (plural) would again choose that route.

Maybe I'm just being naive or sentimental but this is not the VRCC I remember from the early 2000s. This isn't even recognizable. We had our own cast of characters back then for sure (I was one of them). But nothing like the absolute garbage I've seen over the past couple of weeks since I decided to pop in and check things out.

I guess the Tech Boards are the only message boards of any real value these days. All I see in General is a circle-jerk of BS between the same 5-6 people. I wonder how many people have been turned off to this site due the type of behavior I'm seeing here. I guess the argument would be "but my free speech!"

I guess an individual's free speech "trumps" any attempt at maintaining this community.

I fear the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia are clouding your memory. The early 2000's were even worse, to the point I spent the better part of a decade not involved in the VRCC because I felt it might as well be the Very Republican Christian Club.

If you can not help yourself in the future, and continue to wish dialogue. Please refer to me as meathead. We are not on a first name basis.

We disagree.  There are some who sometimes reach to the levels that baldo lives in but only one who is worse.  I base that upon how often I have to remove a post based upon personal attack.  You and baldo are both capable of disagreeing respectfully.  I wish you (plural) would again choose that route.
We do disagree (and that's fine with me). Maybe that should be the subject of another poll ? I believe I have not made a personal attack in quite some time. I regret that I have ever. There have been plenty of personal attacks here besides baldo calling someone an asshole. I can think of numerous off the top of my head. I apologize for my friend calling someone an asshole. The new found sensitivities are surprising.

With all due respect, why can people not just ignore the posts that they don't like?  There are plenty of ride posts, and personal posts by members to read.  They don't generate the page upon page of discussion like the political posts, because it is hard for such topics to be controversial.  No you shouldn't have taken that route, or you shouldn't eat at that restaurant, or your bike is ugly and you ride it like a girl.

I grow weary of the constant bickering at times, but it is a general board.  I suppose some people are just more sensitive than others.  I personally enjoy this site tremendously and visit it several times a day.  I have no one on my ignore list, but there are a few candidates.  I do sympathize with the moderators and their thankless job.  We should do all we can to make their job easier.

I apologize for my friend calling someone an asshole.

We Rogue Riders consider that a term of endearment.
