Brenda has come in a couple times while I've been furiously typing away on the iPad. She asked me if I was pissing you guys off again. (Thanks Ron from Carefree) I told her no, you guys have been pissed at me for years already. So, she asks me if she needs to be worried about a bunch of old guys banging on our door. I didn't have a good answer for her.

Totally serious comment here. Can you tell me your vision of what our nation should be? Can you give specifics as to how we could/would achieve your vision? What would you change, and how would you facilitate that change, and what would you leave as it is? Is California your model, or New York? Do you believe our system of government should reflect the views of the majority, or should we disregard them if our leaders think the majority is mislead or ignorant of what I say best for them. I’m totally serious here, I’m not trying to bait you or anyone else. I’m trying to understand.

Decisions, actions and words all have end results, some can be defined as consequences. Some put more thought into those decisions, actions and words than others. But, in the end, folks decide what they stand for and receive the fruits of their labors. That's true of all of us.
While I would defend any American's right to speak their mind, I can not defend what some say. They bear sole responsibility for that as do I.

Look, I made a pledge not to engage in political threads this year, so all I'll say is this: Meathead, Baldo, myself and others may strongly disagree with your politics but some of you disrespect, minimize or even hate us as people for daring to do so. That's the problem - villifying people for their beliefs. The supporters of this administration here on the board have just become mean towards anyone who doesn't embrace their ideology.
My father is totally in line with everything you believe. He's a hard core Trumper, etc. I'm...not. We NEVER allow our political disagreements to color the respect and love that we have for each other.
For example, Willow has publicly expressed his disdain for me many times. We got along great when we spent some time talking at a couple of InZanes. The only time we have disagreed is on political posts.
That same example holds true for several of you. There is not one single person on this board that I have met in person and didn't like. Not one. I wish there was a way that we could seperate our perceptions of each other from our political beliefs.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I've been to four Inzanes and have met more than a few members that frequent the political threads on this board. We may disagree and argue on the board, but in person we're genuinely friendly. Some ball busting occurs, to be sure. Others here, I wouldn't give the sweat off my balls.

However, one date night last year my wife ordered some type of veg dish. Little did I know, but there were some of those in it, but the way they were prepared was great. I had to ask what they were. Imagine my surprise.

I have hated Brussels sh!ts,, sprouts since I was forced to sit at the supper table until I at least ate one. I tried swallowing whole, gagged and upchucked. Mom and Dad gave up on that approach. I lost some respect from my Father over certain issues like this for which he had his own reasons. At any rate if your girlfriend brought up sprouts everyday and expressed how silly you were being and started with some name calling, I’m thinking your relationship might suffer. I look at our political posts the same way, it’s just not worth the drama that many tend to seem to relish.

I grew up hating chicken gizzards, wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole, wouldn't even taste one. Why?, my older sister told me they tasted just like chicken liver! I had tasted chicken liver, and believe I'd rather eat a chicken turd than consume one of those livers or gizzards. Fast forward a hundred years.....my wife got some gizzards and got me to try one after me protesting to the idea. Uhhhh, that's a gizzard??? Wow, I like that, gimme some more. My sister laughed forever over that. ???

I’m happy to say I’ve never eaten a chicken gizzard or chicken liver and am satisfied to remain that way till I’m 6 foot under. More gizzards and livers for everyone else.

You are asking for a barbed wire fence down the middle of the cafeteria. If some folks on the other side of the cafeteria would quite trying to take the food off my plate, spit in the food on my plate, and demand I buy them steak and lobster while I'm feasting on the finest Soylent Green, there'd be no need nor desire for said fencing.

Exactly, they say there's nothing worse to other smokers than a reformed one, I am guilty of that not in smoking but in life in general. I have seen all ends of the spectrum and yes even have had to protect my food, both literally and figuratively. I totally agree with what Serk said for one reason I made a promise to myself not to repeat the same decisions that I knew led to bad choices. Places that I feel would bring rewards but the cost is way to high and the ends are not done in happiness. I care enough for others to want them to be in the same good place in their own lives. Different people, different lives, different way of lives, not to be hated, but not productive in some cases either. We all experiment in life and each is given the ability to choose how they want to live. That is their God given right, but don't let what I see as a bad decision from a life that I would not want to live be touted as a good one and then forced on me. Dont let the failure of your own personal moral fiber stop you from living up to your promise you gave me either. How stupid do you have to be to say go to a person for help, whose life is in shambles. But by hell or high water don't try to force your bad decisions on me. Ones I have already made or seen the results of and don't care to repeat a mistake again. I dont want my life or others to go backwards from bad decisions. Many in politics fit into these categories, many who endorse wrong people in politics also fit in this category. Example NY, Seattle, today, I think the people who run these cities should be held on treason and abdication of job and duty. Harassment for the point of harassment is futile, but it sure feels good sometimes, but to harbor animosity over it like a cut, it fades away. Thats why I can honestly say I would ride with anyone on this board no matter what they have said here. I may have different life but as long as your bad decisions dont affect my life then we are good. In time we will see who's decisions win out.

It's Brussels Sprouts man. I hate them. To me, they are the most disgusting vegetable available. My girlfriend LOVES Brussels Sprouts. I don't judge her for embracing something that I find repellent and she doesn't judge me for being disgusted by something that she loves. We just accept it and move on.
And then I'm over here just not caring what anyone wants to eat, I don't care, it's their business. Just don't demand control over what I want to eat, and don't demand I pay for what you want to eat, and we'll be cool... That's all I'm asking for... Well.....not exactly. That's a perfect analogy. I don't care what food the other kids eat. I just want them to stop telling me that I have to eat the same thing and stop trying to make me pay for theirs.

Oss I know you are really a NYer at heart Hostage? You got to ride, Bonnie and I had time to talk, I think I got the better end of the deal. You are a very fortunate man A real treat would be to ride to NY and experience some of the areas on a motorcycle. NY and the area your in have some of the most beautiful roads in them. I have traveled to most all of NY state and besides California it is one of the most beautiful and diverse states out there. I cringe yet laugh every time I hear your stories about riding your bike into NY to the courts. For years I did the commute into NY both driving and train and its not for the faint of heart, Be safe.

Not to hijack this thread but this comment made me think of the contract I was offered to transport vehicles to the docks in NY City that were being sold to overseas customers. While I'm not known for being "faint of heart", I turned the contract down due to that last 75 miles I would have had to drive to the docks. Just wasn't worth it to me. I've pulled my trailers through just about every big city in the nation, the most frustrating were Washington DC and NYC. Rams
