https://news.yahoo.com/drug-overdoses-unintended-consequence-covid-132330545.htmlSubstance abuse has surged across the U.S. as a result of coronavirus-induced isolation, but there is also a correlation between stimulus payments and overdoses, experts say. County officials in Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Minnesota and other states have reported recent spikes in fatal and non-fatal overdoses, as well as emergency room visits. The third round of stimulus payments was approved March 17. "We definitely believe that there’s a correlation between the recent stimulus checks that were sent out and the overdoses we’re seeing right now," Lauren Cummings, executive director of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Substance Abuse Coalition, told Fox News. "We saw an increase in overdoses after the first round of stimulus payouts. We annually see an increase in overdoses following tax returns." The Northwest Virginia Regional Drug and Gang Task Force on March 23 reported three fatal overdoses and 13 non-fatal overdoses in the prior week. The stimulus payments, on top of isolation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, have been a "deadly combination," according to Cummings. "It’s kind of an irony," Gerry Schmidt, chief operating officer at Valley HealthCare System in West Virginia, which serves as a substance abuse counseling center, told Fox News. "I mean, a stimulus check you shouldn’t put in the bank, if you think about it. Stimulus checks are supposed to help the economy and help people move forward through a tough time." BOY, 2, DIES AFTER EATING FENTYNAL MOM BOUGHT WITH STIMULUS CHECK, COPS SAY The northern Virginia region saw 53 fatal overdoses in 2020 and 202 non-fatal overdoses -- a record for the area, despite being one of the few regions in the U.S. that saw a decrease in overdoses between 2017 and 2018. "We always say that addiction is a disease of isolation, and the opposite of that is connection. Unfortunately, with support group meetings being moved to virtual platforms, people were just not feeling a connection and were forced into isolation, which led many to relapse," Schmidt said. As the title suggests, an intelligent use of stimulus money. Rams

The lady at the furniture store where they aren't currently providing delivery service characterizes it this way: "They're all at home drinking beer and smoking cigarettes, they'll be back when the money runs out."
-Mike "if they survive, apparently..."

Havent spent a dime of the first 2. Haven’t gotten this one and don’t expect to. If I do it will sit with the other 2 in a savings account. Didn’t want either didn’t need either so I will just hang on to them.

We, DW and I, got $2800. Plan on giving most of it to the local Food Bank like we have done in the pass. The rest may go to one of DW sisters who is having a bad time. So money will go to good use.
Not going to hold on to it.

I have meant to ask this many times. What does DW stand for ? Years ago for some reason my mind related it to “Divorced Wife”. But that makes no sense. (Like much stuff in my head) If you explained this before, I apologize.

we got both of ours plus both kids stimulus money so decided since kids SUV (actually mine) needed new tires near down to wear bars after 7 years of summer use and over 50K miles on them OEM, I splurged yesterday 700 bucks and bought her SUV new tires. Kid complained last October before putting on snow tires that the stock OEM tires not much tread left was slipping from stop signs and hydroplaning somewhat on rainy roads more so than normal. Also just found out yesterday my delta dental crappy insurance is NOT covering my wife's other 20% due on her 2 crowns at 50% some bogus clause stating if primary delta dental (we doubled up this year on dental to get 5 crowns all done for both of us) being wife's is equal or greater than my delta dental at 50% covered that NOTHING will be paid as secondary insurance which is total BS. Why even then pay on my delta dental family plan (as well as my wife if NOTHING covered)? I will be fighting that with my carrier delta dental but am sure is some contract BS written with my EX employer I left a week ago fing tightwads at my old company skimping it anyway they can on paying out. Also BS my wife's plan I think not mine in back teeth on crowns does not pay 80% for tooth colored crowns ONLY paying 'a set fee' not even close to 80% paid out on 1 of her 2 crowns in back of mouth. GEE WHIZ, a crown is a crown should not matter where it is at in the mouth. Why do all these delta dental insurance carriers for teeth cover EVERYTHING like they should?

Dear wife.
Also sometimes known as SHMBO. You mean SWMBO? You know the funny thing is that I had to think about the "SHMBO" thing and then it dawned on me what it was and I translated the "H" to a "W". I guess because in the word "Who" the "W" is silent right. Otherwise it would be like "Whew". I know TMI.

So if the W is silent (dropped) wouldn't that make it Ho. That doesn't sound very complimentary. Incidentally, I don't use that phrase and tend to lose respect for men who do.

Trying to spend it but Momma say's I don't need a "huntin'" rifle "but food will be better tasting if using this over the Ruger 10-22 Dear." We are legally allowed to use .30 caliber now in Indiana. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/155196

I couldn’t find a Henry available. All sold out everywhere. Same with Marlin actually but I found this one from a private seller

A few years ago Marlin added a bolt lock mechanism to prevent accidental discharge when carrying the carbine with a round chambered and the hammer decocked. Many tests have been done on the older ones and it is possible to have an accidental discharge but you almost have to try the circumstances have to be just right. Id rather just be careful. The older ones have smoother actions and just feel better in the hand.

Yeppers. I never sent in my .44 Super Blackhawk for the transfer bar install, or my new Sig 320 for the allegedly improved trigger either.
It's not like I'm going to carry a single action 7.5 bbl revolver for self defense, so I load 6 and shoot 6.
And I don't drop the 320 (exactly on the hammer). (or any of them)
If you are not an idiot, you won't shoot your foot or anyone who doesn't have it coming either.
If you are an idiot, you should probably not own firearms. Stick with clubs.

.44 Super Blackhawk is one of my favorite smaller caliber handguns.

Carb rebuild New Fork Seals Valve Adjustment Should about take all of it... I can understand paying for a carb rebuild and fork seal job. But there is no need to pay for a valve adjustment. Doing the valves is so easy you could take the $200 they would steal from you and take your significant other to a fine dinner out and have enough left over for some safety Chrome for your other lady friend
