I've run AVON tires for over a decade now. They are quieter and ride smoother. The new ones are dual durometer with a harder rubber in the middle with a softer compound on the sides for better grip in the corners. I average 12K on the rear and around 9K up front. (Tire pressures 40 front 42 rear)(98 standard)
Just spent a week in the W Virginia Canaan valley mountain area and they performed very well. My 2c
I took Bridgestone Exedra off 2 weeks ago and installed
Avon Cobra Chrome.
I liked the smooth handling of the Bridgestone a lot, but I think they didnt give me very many miles. It seemed like the middle had harder rubber on them as well because the pattern was okay there, but very worn on the sides.
The first day on the Avon Chrome I felt the mid part was harder than the Bridgestone, but now I don't think about it. (Maybe the Bridgestone was same hard when it was new?

)
But, yeah, the Avon feels good ( but I guess all tires feel good when new;) )
