Hola every one

Ok so i have gotten the new fender rails and sissy bar on thanks to the assistance /advice of the team here,

The fit up was let’s say interesting, but its done   Smiley

Now then as a result of dropping the top box off and that the seat strap no longer works out,

What have people done to secure the seat on a interstate that has been changed in this manner ?

Thanks all

So i am the process of fabricating a cross brace between the sissy bar upper bolts to lay over the seat bracket

Issue solved

If you're still using the OEM I/S seat, look underneath the back end...the bracket unbolts. I believe you should be able to fabricate a small piece to bolt on there with one hole in it to match the location of the bolt where the two fender halves come together. That's how the Std. and Tourer pillions are held in place at the rear, that single bolt where the two halves join. Would be easier than fabbing up a cross piece.

Change the front half of the rear fender with a fender  from a standard.

Soo. I got some 304 SS 1/2” square tube
Welded in a M6 connector nut ( long nut ) to each end inserted and welded
Pop riveted on a little Teflon strip to the under side

I cant seem to load a photo
But now that it is polished it looks like part of the sissy bar rack 1

No need for that or at least it wasn’t om My IS. I put an aftermarket standard seat on it.

They're the same fender.

I'm running a Corbin 2-piece on my I/S. My Tourer currently wears an I/S trunk and fender rails along with an Ultimate King Boy saddle.

There are 4 sets of I/S fender rails in my stash; 2 chrome and 2 powder coated black. On one of each set the studs which secure the seat strap and trunk were cut off, drilled out, tapped and had M8 flange washers welded to the backs of their original attachment points. The areas were cleaned up then off to the chrome platers or the powder coaters.

The finishing part of this is some M8 Bungee Nuts. On a stock I/S rail there isn't enough stud length to allow a Bungee Nut to be used as a replacement for the OEM chromed acorn cap nut, but the modified rails allow me to use them in conjunction with a piece of stainless all-thread. I can then run a one-piece seat and have a good place to tie a large backpack suitcase to the rear portion of the seat.

Here goes images .,.,

The end result

I took a skim of the corners of the long nuts in the image  and pressed them in to the square tube,
Had a mate weld them in and i polished the tube by hand

Test pice and hardware for construction, ( under 10 bucks )

Loving the finished look of the bike
