Out in the middle of the great nothing for what could have been an hour or perhaps two, my slow speed was the only thing keeping me with any sort of confidence that the deer wouldn't be having their way with me. I had already seen a van halfway down 192 that had not been so lucky. The skies were clear as could be, save one small grey cloud, low overhead and not bigger than a few school buss lengths in diameter. Stars everywhere.

All of a sudden, 1... 2... drops of rain on my shield and then suddenly boom! It was like someone was holding a damn watering can over my bike. jacket moist, jeans soaked, shield and bike coated with rain. It lasted for all of 10 seconds, start to finish. I have lived in Florida all my life and never seen a cloud that small drop ANY rain, let alone that much. It was about 1AM and after I got into Melbourne 20 minutes later, so I checked the radar for the last hour. Two different apps, both showing no rain had occurred.

What happened?

You either need to attend church.... or buy a lottery ticket.

Riding for distance on freeways, I have been in and out of heavy rain and bright steaming sun, back and forth all day.  Pure rain would be better, because as soon as the sun (and steam) comes out, your rain gear becomes torture gear.  And I'm not a fan off pulling off the side of a freeway to swap gear out.

I finally learned the trick of bungeeing the jacket behind me where I could reach it from the seat, and just leaving the rain pants on.

I've ridden through brief raindrops many times, but not a 10 second downpour.

15 going to Spearfish. We had already been through two rainstorms one of which was a gully washer. 83 and I believe I-90 we had fueled got coffee and checked our weather apps on the phones-at least 5 of us checked-clear and dry! So we-thinkin there was 7 of us-back on the I headin west. Up to speed all the Riders staggered formation turned up the wick and We got Wet AGAIN!  Lips Sealed And I'm thinkin here not even a half mile but it came down Hard fer that 1/2 mile!  crazy2 And after a rest stop I let the wind and sun dry my clothes!  2funny Trite as itsounds on a M/C it is what it is weather wise. The night before at the motel in Nebraska City Ia we had tornado warnings and some rain. Mgr let us put our scooters under the entrance canopy.  cooldude Well sometimes the first of that rain makes the road surface slippery. Even felt That in an 18 wheeler. RIDE SAFE.

I do not trust much more than 70% the radar since pop up showers can happen in the smallest areas not seen on radar it seems like.  I have seen it rain in backyard but front yard is dry, go figure.  Once visiting Gulf shores AL/Florida area 10 or so years ago noticed the 1 week there it can rain/downpour for few minutes in bright sunlight as well, very odd.
