I recall How CLOSE I was to going to work for North American Aviation in 1968 when I seperated from The U S Navy. N A A was going to help with my schooling for my A & E license and with housing. And I'll leave that Right There! RIDE SAFE.

Fifty miles to get no corn (87) for the bike.  $3.65 today.

Had to wait for a pristine 32 Packard convertible at the pump.  Doggone cool wheels.

Up close, these things are more like a tank than a car.

Just happened to glance at the Murphy U S A fuel prices and darn-low of $3.03 to $3.10! I had looked yesterday and most were flirting with $2.90 something. And yet Again-Thanks JOE! RIDE SAFE.

no worries it will be over 3 bucks per gallon shortly am sure

COSTCO has the cheapest gas around still under 3.00 gallon while most 3.09 to 3.19 gallon here in southern WI.    For those who shop at picnsave grocery stores,  if you just use their savers card you get for every 100 bucks spent  10 cents off per gallon up to 35 gallons.  Each month I usually get 20 cents off per gallon sometimes 30 cents off spending over 300 bucks per month on groceries.  That is over 10 bucks off per fillup if you can get 35 gallons in your vehicle like my 17 mpg truck.

COSTCO card for gas you can use either at COSTCO for gas or anywhere else for gas and get 4% cash back also a good deal.

“ Gas prices have surged again in New Jersey and around the nation with double-digit increases in the Garden State at a time of year that usually sees decreases due to a drop in demand.”

“AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $3.43, up 12 cents from a week ago. Drivers were paying an average of $2.23 a gallon a year ago at this time.”

“ On Wednesday, New Jersey’s average price per gallon for regular was $3.39, marking a high it had last hit on Aug. 6, 2014, when the price reached $3.38.”

“The national average price on Friday for a gallon of regular gasoline was $3.37, up seven cents from last week. Drivers were paying $2.16 a gallon on average a year ago at this time.”

Yep, its $3.20 in Pinellas county now.

Our wonderful commander in chief has just said he sees no price decrease for a year. This man has done such a good job. Undecided

Sort of simple economics.

First, you throttle supply.  President Biden did that by throttling and cutting back on oil production in the US.  Remember before Biden, we had a surplus of oil and were exporting energy such as oil.

So, Biden throttled US supply.

So the rest of the world, which could have upped their supply did not because to do so would help the US out.

They would like to have high energy prices in the US and the rest of the world  It hurts the US economy and the world economy.  These countries don't care a wit about their citizens so, they did not up supply to make up for our slow down in production.

Oil prices go up not only here but throughout world because, as noted above supply has been limited.

Simple supply and demand.

And remember President Biden did this by Executive Fiat.  No laws were passed he just signed the paperwork.

So your telling me that the president of the United States, has the executive power to tell Hess corp, Exxon/Mobile, Marathon,Koch, Shelloil, Occidental, Vaalco energy, etc. etc. how much oil they can produce?

Or could it be the feud/ production war between Russia  and  OPEC finally coming to an end

We shouldn't have to be worried about Russia or OPEC. OH, wait, a year ago we weren't. We were producing an excess and exporting it. We were finally non-dependent and on our own as we should have been.
But that changed 10 months ago.

A comment on Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.

It is not a reliable source for information.  It is a "commentary" by those contributing.  Not fact based at all.

Sort of like "Facebook" or "Twitter".  All biased.

It is hard to find "truth" on the web.  You have to use and look for multiple sources or reasonably reliable sources.

Some support for this comment

Wikipedia is increasingly used by people in the academic
community, from first-year students to professors, as the easiest source of
information about anything and everything. However, citation of Wikipedia in
research papers may not be considered acceptable, because Wikipedia is not a
creditable source.

https://connorsstate.edu/disted/wikipedia/

Wikipedia is not a reliable source for citations elsewhere on Wikipedia. Because it can be edited by anyone at any time, any information it contains at a particular time could be vandalism, a work in progress, or just plain wrong. Biographies of living persons, subjects that happen to be in the news, and politically or culturally contentious topics are especially vulnerable to these issues. Edits on Wikipedia that are in error are usually fixed after some time. However, because Wikipedia is a volunteer-run project, it cannot constantly monitor every contribution. There are many errors that remain unnoticed for hours, days, weeks, months, or even years. Therefore, Wikipedia should not be considered a definitive source in and of itself.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_is_not_a_reliable_source

Left-wing media bias has taken over once-neutral Wikipedia, just as co-founder Larry Sanger lamented earlier this year, according to five studies reviewing the content of the online encyclopedia.

The studies, originally reported in Breitbart,  have concluded Wikipedia is even more left-biased than the Encyclopedia Britannica, left-wing indoctrination is pushed harder by leftist editors, liberal media is more pronounced in the mentions on that site, the reviews of politicians relies are left-wing sources, and conservative editors on the website are six times more likely to be sanctioned for their updates.

From the article linked below.

Aside from reaffirming that market forces are more powerful than any cartel, especially in free markets, this episode also gave credence to the premise that individual nations' agendas will override cartel agenda. Brent crude oil, in May 2020, cost around $30 per barrel, a level not seen since 2004.4 West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil, meanwhile, slumped to about $17.5 per barrel, a level not seen since 2002.5

This affirms that President Biden, in cutting production has helped increase the overall price of oil (and therefore its products like gasoline) throughout the world.

Yes President Biden's actions are the direct cause for gasoline headed to $10 a gallon here in the U.S.

When this tread started, our gas was $3.56 a gallon.  Yesterday it was $3.59 a gallon.  Guess I shouldn't complain on our gas price considering what has been happening  to other here.  This is about what the gas cost several years ago.
