You really have to wonder what the heck some people are thinking.
An attack with archery equipment ! At least its quiet. But, yep, we should probably ban those fully automatic bows and limit the arrow clip, errrr, quiver size to 5.

It might be an islamic wacko, but it might just be a wacko.... he's under evaluation at the wacko house now.
You'll note that in countries with severe firearms restrictions, humans murder people with other weapons.
I doubt bows and arrows catch on with islamic wackos. Or average criminals either.

It was mentioned that the people killed, was after he slipped away from the armed Police. |

If you fire a warning shot and later shoot to kill, you will weaken your case for self defense in a life and death situation. If you must shoot; you must make it count.

The warnings shots in this case were by the police. Apparently the way things turned out they should have made their shots count.

They say they were warning shots, but if all their shots were aimed at him and missed, that's what I'd say too.   (edit; Tazman beat me to it) And none of us has any idea what standard Norwegian police training requires. Warning shots may be SOP (or even trouble for an officer who doesn't do it). A warning shot can hurt a self defense claim. But it you can safely fire a warning shot (and not endanger anyone else which is not always easy), and the aggressor backs off/stops/runs away, but then comes back at you again, you have a pretty good argument that you tried to avoid lethal force, but then had no choice. But they are risky in the hands of a liberal prosecutor/city. Really, it's best not to even show a gun, unless and until you feel you have to to protect yourself or others from lethal threat. Although getting ready (drawing) may be a damn good idea. |
