Does riding around the house count? I took my Valk off the lift and moved it from my back garage to the front garage to make room for one I'm going to work on. I rode into the street and back in the driveway. Dies that count?

I like to ride on New Year's Day and we often get the opportunity here in Kansas but tomorrow they're expecting several inches of snow accumulation with a high of 24F.

Today was into the high 50s.  I rode to lunch and back, well a roundabout back.  Nice day.

The last time it snowed here. I quickly pushed the bike out and went for a very short ride to say I rode in the snow in Florida.

The last time it was warm here I rode the bike out and took a ride. Not happening today!

Carl, Glad you took and enjoyed that "roundabout" ride but if you don't mind, please keep that weather up there.
I know you'll do everything you can about it.  Wink

I don't think i will get out today. Snow is a$$hole deep to a tall giraffe. Temp. is - 29 right now. Tomorrow does't look good either. Hell the next three months don't look good. I don't think i will even ride any of the snow machines either till it warms a little bit.  coolsmiley

OMG!  I remember being in such conditions, I don't miss them.   Stay safe.
Ya know, there's a reason I moved to southern Mississippi.   You just mentioned a couple of them.  Wink

No riding for me today - in fact, I doubt I will be leaving the nice, warm house unless it becomes an emergency.

Rolled the bike out at 0730. No rain in the forecast but it looked dicey. Too late going to the ride to breakfast either way. Had to leave the jacket and gloves behind. Just too darned warm

Stopped for gas. Now I had 45 min to do a 40 min ride.

Hit every green light and no traffic. Made the 40 min ride in 30 min. Lol

Eventually everyone showed up and we had a good start to 2022.

Only 70 miles but at least the sun came out and dried the roads and turned into a pretty nice day.

NOAA forecast (most accurate one) predicts -27 farenheit (no wind chill included) expected here tonight.  I may clear a path from the shed and see if the heated gear holds up.  Not.

Can only dream of a ride today.   Woke up to 3 degree temps with a projected of 25 as the high point.  The snowpack/ice roads in the neighborhood made Valk just shutter when opened the garage door a bit ago.  So no rides for over a week and maybe 2 weeks.  I will just have to be happy to read about others enjoying their rides.

Hopefully those to the east are enjoying the weather we have sent you.   Should be warned that Monday/Tuesday we are expecting more of the same.  So that storm will be heading your way later in the week.

Ok..... I did two rides today.  They were short.  The weather was warm (76 degrees F) but the skies were cloudy on the second ride.   I did a video on both rides.  The camera I use is a Contour HD.  I have two.  One is about 10 years old and the other maybe four or five.

These cameras allow you to mount them vertical or horizontal.  In the Goldwing I use both mounting ways.  On the ST only use the horizontal mounting point.  I forgot to check it before riding so the first video was not very panoramic. So, I took a second ride with the wife (she is not fond of riding two up on the ST).  So, the first video is the second trip and the second video is the first trip.

Local roads are a bit rough, the Goldwings suspension is a little stiffer than the ST.  Don't know why but the first video bad be expanded to 1080 with manual Rumble, the second one only had 720p.

First Trip https://rumble.com/vrrgsx-todays-ride-january-1-2022.html

Camera.  The two dots on the lens show alignment.

be curious how you make out snow wise come Sunday morning in suburbs of Chicago area down there.  It just started snowing finally here 4 p.m. (was suppose to start by noon)  roads just barely covered being 1 hour north of Freeport IL.  They say 3-5 inches but unless it comes down buckets in next few hours looks like ending by 10 p.m.,  I highly doubt over 2 inches of snow, will see.

Not as bad as predicted, around 8" or so. Snow plows did a good job of keeping the highways open for the people who absolutely, positively had to get somewhere because tooth paste was on sale. At 13° I haven't tackled the drive yet. It's winter in IL.

Went through about half a tank of fuel in both Valks yesterday.

Got wet on the bike just as I was heading home after re-fueling and adding a bit of Marine Stabil.

Due to other priorities, they be tucked away in the garage for a couple of weeks.  It is, what it is.
