If you're a US tax payer, you're already paying for 'em, so might as well take advantage of your 4 free at home COVID test kits. The website was supposed to go live tomorrow, but it seems they turned it on early: https://www.covidtests.gov/

I hope y'all get the tests soon. They can promise the moon, but I read that there's a shortage of available tests...

I did the order as well, one never knows and as Serk said, I already paid for it.
It is interesting that the United States Postal Service is providing the processing for the orders. Shipping you could see, processing, I guess since they can.

Bump back to the top for those interested. While, I'm not sick with COVID, it's a real possibility I could get infected with it at any point. I would think even those against vaccinations would want to have this on hand versus hoping the local pharmacy has them in stock. I agree, with when they get here, I'll be better off.

Since the govt announced they were giving (even though we the people have paid for them) each person or household 4 test kits, here in the Houston area we havent been able to buy them anywhere. The govt wants us all to be totally dependent on the govt for all our needs so they can claim they are the great “Savior”.

You fellas that ordered the kit may be surprised when it arrives. It merely consists of an illustrated set of instructions. It includes a diagram of a persons hand, indicating which is the index finger or the one that is used to point with. You are then instructed to insert that finger all the way into your tail end and then raise that finger to your nose. If you can smell it, you are testing negative. If you can't smell it, you are positive, but can return to work in five days.

I'm not saying COVID is all BS so don't misunderstand me. It was horrible and now it seems a little less horrible, but no one is willing to say that. I do believe the present administration fully intends to get the most political gain they can and spend as much money as possible. So, keeping the pandemic alive is vital to them. With all the stimulus checks, "free" shots that we are paying for, free tests, free masks all paid for again by us. Sooner or later the system will collapse and there will be an urgent need for the government to step in and restore order.
Why is it the Biden administration does everything it can to worsen the supply chain crisis? They couldn't care less if thousands of people can't afford food or gas. "It's all Trumps fault" is their default answer.
I blame the Republicans in DC just as much for sitting on their hands and not at least throwing roadblocks in Bidens way the way the Democrats did to Trump. And for not impeaching him for that matter. Yes, that would leave us with Harris, but she wouldn't last long either. It's all so sad!
I'm hearing more and more reports. The truth is coming out about falsified covid numbers and tests. The lies have been unforgivable, and the government doesn't even try to hide their hypocrisy.
I am sick of it and just glad to live in Florida where we are kind of back to normal and have been for a long time.

It's no Amazon Prime, but by government standards that's pretty impressive, got an e-mail that my test kits will be in today's mail. A week and a day from ordering 'em, knowing the high amount of orders they likely got, is pretty impressive I'll admit...

Got mine Monday! They are the made in China type. Two boxes, two tests per box. I won't use them unless I'm symptomatic.

I'm hearing of families "sharing" a swab so they don't use them up too quickly.
For instance a family of 4 is getting 4 swabs due to the 1 delivery per address.

I can see why they'd do that, but it doesn't take an Einstein level brain to take the next logical step and realize that's also a really good way to make sure if one has it all have the disease too...

well that sucks -7 here now so likely to freeze.... Pretty sure most of the midwest is below freezing overnight and today and in the Fed EX and UPS trucks for more than likely 6+ hours bound to freeze even if wrapped up and insulated in cardboard and wrapping paper/foam.

Mine probably froze solid. This is Gunnison in January after all (currently below zero at 9:30 am, despite the bright sunshine). Outdoor mailbox is six miles away from home. They sat at least a couple hours. Another example of government foresight and efficiency.
