I see Drakesboro on your list that where the old town of Paradise is. Along with Paradise Power Plant. I worked there many times it's anything but Paradise when stuck there . Roads are outstanding for motorcycle's no so much for a 22 wheel tractor trailer was my only transportation while there for months on end.

"Paradise" ...one of my favorite songs from my favorite singer/songwriter Smiley

I detoured through Western KY when I rode down to Morgantown Inzane in 2016, and went through that particular area. KY is beautiful, lots of cool things to see, and yes roads in that area were great MC roads. cooldude

Heading to Inzane on Tuesday.  Going up to Iowa to visit the Field of Dreams and John Wayne's birthplace and museum, then heading West.  Had a shoulder injury, so I have to trailer the bike.  That Phat Girl makes the trailer look small.

Don't forget to stop at motorcycle museum, not too far from Field of Dreams.

Disco and Hay Hauler are on their way to Pueblo (where I am) and will use my house as a way point. Then Friday morning we are off to roam about until we land in Billings on Sunday.

Saying I'm "excited" wouldn't come close to the correct expression for how I feel about this trip.

The bike is almost ready. Need to wax the paint and do a quick oil change.

Planning on an oil/filter change today and get the tool bag together that I usually carry. Will do one last walk around of BB(Big Bertha) then start putting stuff in. Need to find my cover, can't recall where I put it after last year's IZ trip.

See ya in 24!  Glad we're not leaving today, it's a frog choker out there.

Childress Texas few hours ago, getting gas at a Pilot and Serk Jr non-chalantly says "Oh, hi Noah."

Tim(Dagwood) got here about 1315 today. I spent the afternoon getting stuff ready for the bike...tools, odd parts, my laptop, emergency power pod, bike cover, etc. Need to finish packing the suitcase, will have to bungee it down on the back seat. I'd pull a trailer but for two things; it kills the gas mileage, and the trike rides better with a load on it. We went to supper and my new friend Nancy met us there. She and Tim hit it off quite well but when it was time to go, kinda tugged at the old heart strings. We plan to roll in Monday afternoon if all goes well...weather, mechanical issues...the usual.

We pulled in last evening.  Lori was about 5 minutes before us.  Don and Barb about 25 minutes later.

Carl had some throttle issues and will be stuck in po-dunk, SD until tomorrow.  Christy/Ed and Greg (3G) are bringing parts and assistance, but won't be there until late this afternoon.

Serk Jr. and I decided to add Pike's Peak to the itinerary, did that, and are now in our motel for the night in Idaho Springs, CO.

Tomorrow the itinerary is Mt. Evans, Rocky Mountain National Park, then up to Cheyenne WY for the night, with Sunday being hit it hard on the super slab on in to Billings....

Ya'll be safe, and see ya'll soon!

Serk Jr. and I are safely at our hotel in Cheyenne, WY for the night....

On to GZ tomorrow!

If on I 90 you'll ride right by the Little Big Horn national Monument. It's about a mile from I 90 on Hwt212.

Five years ago, riding from Cheyenne to Billings for IZ with Kali on the back.

Saw the sign for the monument...

On the helmet to helmet comms "Kali.... You familiar with the Battle of Little Big Horn?"

Her: "Uh.... No?"

Me: "Custer's Last Stand?"

Her: (Verbalized blank stare)

Me: Puts on turn signal, she gonna learn today.

Pull into the entrance, and #1 RVs full of protesters all up and down the road, #2, they didn't charge us admittance.

Found out later, it was the anniversary of the battle, they don't charge admission and the local natives always protest.

Rode around, stopped at the stops for her to read and learn.

Got to one area, came down a hill, was a cop car with lights on. Stopped to ask what's up. He said It's all good, just don't stop until you get to the cop car over there (Pointed to a cop car on the other side of the valley.)

Okay, wassup?

Cop: "They're doing a reenactment, don't want folks stopping their vehicles in the middle of it" (Cop points to stands off to the side filled with hundreds of spectators.)

Me: (Looking to make sure no one's waiting behind us) Okay if we hop off real quick to get a camera for her (Points to Kali) to take pics with? Promise we won't stop.

Cop: Sure!

So Kali's 1st lesson in that involved riding the Valk right through the middle of a reenactment with protesters before and after, and getting some incredible pics like this: Nothing makes history come alive like seeing reenactors come outta the river right before your very eyes!

So anyway.... When we get near that area tomorrow, I'll judge our time for the day, tiredness, etc, and if we're not pushing it too much already, it'll definitely be a lesson Serk Jr gets that evidently the public schools are no longer teaching.
