We watched it tonight.  The first part with the locked ATMs, downed aircraft and inoperable vehicles, fried phones and TVs was pretty feasible in an electromagnetic type attack.

I got a kick out of the main character MacGyvering an emergency radio battery out of hundreds of spuds!
Good thing he had lots of positive and negative cable just lying around!
