Todays ride from home to Galax, VA.   Not headed to InZane but am taking a trip to WV and then to see my daughter and then down the outer banks.

Also I found out that my videos that I have uploaded to RUMBLE are only uploaded at 480P even though they were recorded at 1080P.   Even if you select the payback of 1080P its still 480P.  I will work with Rumble and find out why.

Todays's ride home to Galax, VA, in several parts.

Todays Ride, Galax, VA to Elkins, WV

Had some camera issues at the end of the day's ride and it did rain for a while.... heavy at times.  After researching the video quality of Rumble and YouTube, I am switching back to YouTube for videos until I figure the Rumble thin out.

Todays Ride, From Elkins, WV to Chester, VA.  Mostly on US33

US 33 is a very nice ride.   Have done it east and west.  First part, after the ride by the BBQ place, is sort of bumpy and a four lane.  After a few miles it gets better.

More videos later.

Later  Cheesy

I am planning to be in the Elkins and Philippi area of WV the 20th to the first.  There’s some mighty fine riding up there!  But I will be spending my time with my brother.  He does not ride anymore.

Still some fun places to see.    Bike or car/truck.

We stayed in the Hampton Inn.  Its high on a hill and has an excellent view of the mountains.

And the Smoke on the Water BBQ place is a good place for lunch or dinner.

The Hampton is one of the newer hotels there.  It has been years since I ate at that Smoke on the Water restaurant.  I’m not even sure it was called that when I ate there.

Lots of good roads and sights to see for sure!

I stayed in Galax a few weeks ago when my wife and I and her parents did a trip to Mt airy and to pilot mount.  58 is one of the best roads I have ever ridden. it is over 50 miles of creek riding and curves it was a beautiful fantastic ride

Todays Ride:  From Nags Head, NC to Fayetteville, NC

Yesterday we traveled from my daughters home in Chester, VA to Nags Head, NC.   We have not traveled that exact route before but have travelled down to Nags Head from Maryland.

Anyway, the road was full of traffic.  There were areas where we had stopped before on the road that are no longer, well enticing (will include some pictures later of what I mean/meant).

Had to pay a toll before leaving VA to cross in to NC.  Strange since there were exits before the toll booth and after the tool both the road what to crap.  It was VA 168 to NC 168 and then US 158.

Even traveling the rest of the way to Nags Head was really bad traffic wise.

So..... no videos from yesterday day.  But the ride from Nags Head for the first 60 or 70 miles was excellent.  Not curvy but excellent roads and very rural.

Back home in SC.   Total miles around 1,400.  Had two, two night stops.  One in Elkins (it was very cold and we did not bring "cold" gear) and the other at my daughters in Chester, VA.

Thinks I learned.   Traveling to Chester, VA from Elkins is not bad.  Traveling from Chester, VA to the outer banks is not a good ride.  Maybe when we did it 10 or 15 years ago it was a nice trip (will post some pictures of that trip) but, not now.   It was bumper to bumper once we got near Roanoke.  Traveling down to Nags Head was bumper to bumper almost.

We were going to ride down the outer banks to Ocracoke but deiced not to because of a need to get him in the early PM.

Fayetteville!!!!!  Not a bad town.  Nice hotel, found a restaurant but it was 8 miles from our hotel.  Strange.  Leaving Fayetteville, not fun.  Don't do interstates so took US 401.  It was 30 miles of urban sprawl before we got to a 55mph space on US 401 South.  We will have to bypass Fayetteville in the future.

Now for the videos.

SC 213 - You sometimes forget how nice the roads are just around the corner from you.   Use to travel this one several times a week.   Forgot about its curves..
