Hate to hear this.... her and Kali always hung out quite a bit at Inzanes.... I was worried when I didn't see her in Billings that something wasn't right.

She was rather vocal about NOT wanting her picture taken, so I don't have many, and usually refrained from posting any per her wishes, but this once I don't think she'd mind.....  This was from IZ in 2020 in Asheville, pic taken by Kali...

I was too.  She was registered, but didn't show.  Her niece's husband said she was having a lot of trouble getting around since May.  She was going to go stay with them, but the day after they started getting a room ready, she went by ambulance to hospital.  She only left ICU to go to hospice.

Aaah...now I know who she is, thanks for posting Serk. Yes, like O2S I've spent time joking with her...especially when we used to use wrist bands. I just never knew her name, as is the case with a lot of attendees I've chatted with over the years. She was a regular at IZ for sure.

Serk alerted me to this tonight.  She was a great lady and a great friend. My whole family will miss her.
I've spent many hours sitting and talking with her.  She helped my teenager train our dog, and I never went to a Texans game without stopping by her seat and visiting with her for a while.

I'll miss Lyn-Del. She could come across rough but she had a heart of gold. She loved her dog and enjoyed visiting.   You will be missed.  Rest in peace Lyn-Del.

I truly hate to read this... I found her to be a strong, independent, bold, sensitive, caring... generous, and genuine rider! Very much one of the vibrant threads that comprise the tapestry of the VRCC. I miss her already.

Lyn-Del made many of the Cheaha Mountain  Rallies back in the day. She was a kind hearted lady. I enjoyed many a conversations with her sitting around the Lodge waiting  on the many rain down pours. My friend DDT described her well.  Rest In Peace Phyliss…

I've been to her home when Wizard was still alive. She was a Houston Texans fan and knew I liked the Tennessee Titans . She had seasonal seats and would always invite me to come watch the game. I never did but I should have. Rest in peace .She also had a garage full of motorcycle's ( really a garage full ).

I'm a little late to the game here been dealing with serious health issues of my own and haven't been on the board.

That said,

I really hate to hear this.

I got to ride with her on the way to the Blue Gray Ride.

That was a great experience, she was an extraordinary person.

May she Rest in Peace always.

There will be a memorial August 5, 2022 7:00 PM at Runge Park Pavillion, 4605 Peck St, Santa Fe (south of Houston).  The VRCC is invited.  I will have more details soon, but wanted to get the date and time out there as soon as I knew it was solid.
Yes, I know it's a Friday and that's unfortunate, but the family had competing interests asking for different things.

Mark

PS:  If anyone has more pictures (unlikely, I know), send them my way so they can be included.

Just a reminder that Phyllis' memorial will be this evening. Thank you to those who are able to be there to pay our respects in person, those of us who can't, remember to raise a toast in her honor, or however you choose to honor a lost member.....

Ride report:
It was a good gathering last night to remember our friend Phyllis.  There were approximately 50 people there, 11 of them Valkyrie people.  My family and I, Hayhauler and BJ, Hotglue and FlamingoBabe, SuperSanta, and Franco6 & Chantal.  There was also family, and the dog training community showed up in force.
We spent the first hour reconnecting with friends and telling stories amongst ourselves.  They had someone read the obituary and then opened up the floor for stories and reminiscences.  We all spoke about her big heart and generous spirit, and how much she loved being around people, even if she wouldn't admit it at times.
Some group pictures were taken, but I don't have access to those pictures yet.  I should receive them soon, and will post them when I can.
They had a small display on a table.  It included the only 3 pictures we could find of her that were worthwhile, some flowers, and a pair of framed prayers, one from a dog lover's perspective, and one from a motorcyclist's perspective.
To close out, her nephew (really the organizer of all of this) asked someone from each community to read their respective prayers.  The motorcyclist's prayer was as follows:
Protection Prayer
Lord Jesus, without you, we can do nothing.
You are our defender and deliverer, the one who fights all our battles and shields us from every death trap that the enemy has set before us.
Lord, we ask you to cover us under your wings so that we can find refuge as we ride our motorcycles to our various destinations.
Be with us always and protect us from careless drivers who may put us in great danger.
In Jesus' name, we believe and pray, Amen.

Her nephew and I are talking about a group ride to go scatter her ashes in the same location where Wizard's were scattered.  I'm not sure when it will be, but I'm thinking in a month or two when it gets cooler.
Starting point will be in the south Houston area, and destination will be in Sargent.
More to come.

I rode with Lyn-Del several times always enjoyed her company, the one time I remember most was when we stopped at a diner and all the parking was on a down hill grade.  So we all backed into the parking spots, except Lyn-Del she pulled straight in on the downhill.  Coming out of the diner I saw her sitting on her bike putting her helmet on, so I walked over and offered to help her push her bike out. She turned her head and looked at me like "Are you kidding Me" Planted her feet down and pushed that puppy out of that down grade like it was a mini-bike, turned and looked at me with a big smile on her face and laughed.. Wow!

Only knew her through Inzanes and I'm sure she yelled at me a couple times or three.  Cheryl and I enjoyed our times together with her at the social events.

Peace, love, and strength to all who mourn her passing and may her memory be a blessing.
