My prepaid cremation was under $2K total with all fees and taxes.

My dad was cremated back in the '80's when he died.  We went the same way with my Mom.  My Mom had only us family members to attend a funeral as all her friends had passed.  WE did it at the grave site.  Simple elegant and easy, just like her.

The cremation, not planned with the funeral home, costed around $1500. My folks had purchased grave sites many years ago.   A marker and an interment less than $3k.

I haven't planned on "my after I after I am gone" event other than I want to be cremated and ashes scattered.  I have never liked being underground.
