Too bad Honda can't wake up sometime.

I wonder if it is strictly Harley/Buell bikes.

LOL,, when I was riding route 66 2 summers ago,, I ran into a group from Norway riding 60 rented Hardleys. Following them was a trailer behind a truck,, you guessed it,, in case of breakdowns.  cooldude

So they exclude the V Rod because it's not a "real" Harley Davidson?

Nice route.  I doubt it would be an enjoyable ride.

Met a long distance rider two years ago at the local Home Depot. He was there to buy a nut to actually get a date/time/location stamp for the start of one of their events. A year earlier, he had ridden this route in reverse in 4 and 1/2 days. I bet they want let him in. And does that really give you bragging rights. The 1/2 million would be great, but the bragging rights need to be there as well.

My neighbor out back wants to do it...I told him I would carry his tools...and and follow on my Valk...he did not laugh....always in good fun....

"What the Entry Fee Includes:
The entry fee buys your way into the Event. Participants will be responsible to provide their own food, fuel, accommodations, maintenance and supplies, etc. "

And the question still is - - What does the entry fee buy?  That's a lot of money for a map.

Just for clarification, if I won a half million bucks for just about any reason I think I would brag about it. Probably shouldn't because it would be in poor taste and tacky...but let's face it...I'd be bragging with some serious yahoooos thrown in. Not a time I would be able to play it cool.  Evil

I did also wonder if the V-Rod and newer HDs would be able to compete as non-air cooled bikes. Oh well. I'm not likely to buy one just to ride over and ask.  angel

emailed the event organizers. HD only. So it's not the best bike and rider. I guess they need something to brag about with slumping sales.

I have been following this for a while. The Anchorage paper had an article of how the town of Homer, after a few meetings, gave them there blessing.

I have to many responsibilities at this juncture of my life, but I really had to talk myself out of taking a trip down to Homer, document my departure from there and then ride down to there start and then back to Homer. All on my own dime, and route. Maybe make a little news, at least up here.

I'm not going to say that it would have been a trip of a life time, because that's still to come..... cooldude

Oh well, I just need to try and make it out for Inzane.

In 2005, we rode to Alaska.  Had a flat between Homer and Soldotna.  Had it fixed at Ron's Honda in Kenai.  Spent 3 nites in Wasilla.  Drank a few beers at the Palmer Moose Lodge.  Roy

I put the thread out there for you'ns to see, what happens to it after my original post, I could care less............

Told my son that if we thought we could get a copy of the map at each check point, we could take the Valk and his Chopper on it..........    He pu$$ied out....

Told me if I'd let him ride the Valk, he'd do it for sheets and grins.........

I'm tempted..........

I'll bet they would beach and complain like a stuck pig...........

Tempted is all, it would take a big trailer to haul my O2 making machine a generator and etc to keep the Chopper running......    LOL    Slam of his Texas Chopper.     10 years ago I would of been gone in a heart beat.......
