This thing looks in good position but I don't really see anything special about it.

Well, it looks like it’s at a dealership. Either they know what they have and want to make top dollar or they gave too much for it on a trade. Either way that price is where I think the value is, or pretty close anyways.

V twin custom shop west of Minneapolis Mn. This bike is out of their wheelhouse. With low mileage , age my only concern would be the tires and the diagrams in those 6 carbs.

I saw that too but I think that was a description of the engine only “belt driven”

Yes, it was obvious that "belt driven" described the overhead cams.

What I see is hopeful sellers pricing their Valkyries.   What I don't see is what the selling price was when it finally went to another rider.

I recently looked at a 2000 Valkyrie Standard for someone else.   It was hydro locked, hadn't been out from under the carport in over three years. the "supposedly" new tires were flat and it was covered with mold, dust and pine pollen.   The owner/seller admitted the fuel tank was rusty but, never came up with a key so I could shine my flashlight in and take a look.

The seller was asking $2K for this Valkyrie, I told him it was only worth $500 to $700 at most and that was only as a parts bike.   It wasn't for me, I did show pics to the friend who wanted to know more about it.

This is one of those cases where the bike was worth more in parts than it was as a whole.

But I see bikes like my own priced way up there, I wonder what the actual selling price is.
A seller can ask whatever they want to ask but, getting that price is sometimes very difficult if not impossible.
