I don't know this for sure, but I believe the forward section of the alternator case is different between a Hitachi and the Compufire. So, if that's right, the Saturn hack may not be workable as a Valk-replacement alternator as-is. Maybe if you already have a Compufire, but I think I've read that those didn't fit in the Valkyrie as well as they do in the Goldwing 1500.

I may be totally wrong here. Those more well versed in alternator experiments may be able to chime in with better knowledge than me.
