Hey All,

I have had my Digi-sync since BonS was making them.  Recently, I have completely rebuilt my carbs on my 01, go to sync and one carb is way low.  I had bench sync’d them, so I was sort of surprised it was low.  For giggles, I pulled the digi-sync off, and spun it around, and sure enough, the low reading follows the digi-sync.  For some reason, top right wants to read low, even though it calibrates good with the start up of the unit.

Has anyone found this before?  I know BonS isn’t doing anything with them, so not sure if can be sent anywhere.

Thanks for any help.

he was only selling them and not making them, but I could be wrong on that.
Here is the company that makes them.

You are wrong.  He did stop and sold or passed his company to another.

Thanks for the links…I knew it was out of warranty.  Now that I know the one port is low, I just know not to use it.  I’ll have to pay attention as it ages to see if any other ports go low.

I'd like to buy one if someone has one for sale. I do have access to one but it's 100 miles away, not very convenient.  Wink

If your able to solder / desolder and are electronically inclined you could try swapping the pressure sensor to another port.  If the problem follows the move you know what the problem is and can try to find a replacement sensor.   Last time I looked they were back ordered everywhere I looked and a bit pricey.  I believe the PN is MPXV6115VC6U for the sensor but yours could be a x-reference or other manufacturer.  It's really a very basic setup with an Arduino and only a few other components.

I have no illusion of thinking I can solder or desolder a board….I do know how to solder copper pipes together, but that is where it ends,  and the wrenching takes over.  Cheesy.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

When desoldering a board, one needs a "solder sucker"...a little tool I happen to have. My neighbor once saw it in my tool chest and asked "what's that funny looking thing?" Me..."a solder sucker!" He..."what's a solder sucker used for?" Me..."sucks solder." He gave up at that point.  Wink

I contacted Digi sync to see what they might say, here is their response…”I would suspect a blockage in the sensor or vacuum tubing. I would recommend pulling the tubing out of the unit and blowing it clean. If that doesn't work, you may want to LIGHTLY blow some air into the sensor itself to clean it out”.

So, we shall try that, and see if it works.  Just figured I would add this in the event that someone else has this issue.

Update to this issue….I took the words of the folks at Digi sync to heart, and pulled the offending tube off the unit.  What I found was a glue like substance partially blocking the nipple for the tube, as if the tubes were glued on, and this one had a slight bit extra that gave a blockage.

Now, the unit works as it should.  I should mention that up until I found this issue, I had only used this on 4 cylinder Wings, so I had never used that port prior to now.  Just hope this helps someone in the future.

Tom (tz89) originally came up with the design idea. I still have one of his boards and the mini disc that he sent me with the program data to load on after assembling the components. BonS produced them as a finished product and of course made them look more production like. BonS made it possible for anyone to have one.

There are other things on this forum, that if you read the entire forum, you will find have evolved with and by a collective effort that we all have benefited from.

That is one of the many things that make’s the VRCC a family. As we all know a family has many differing dynamics but that is what continues to make it better as it moves forward.
