Dag the URL you are using is called the "loopback" IP address.  The loopback will attempt to open (port 86 in this case) on each users computer that attempts to reach this site.  The only persons computer that this URL will work on is your computer.

There are 3 solutions I know to solve your problem:

(1) request a static IP address from your Internet service provider.  That may be a bit expensive if it is available.
(2) Use dynamic IP.  I use a service called TZO (http://www.tzo.com) which works very well, and it only costs about $30 US dollars/year.  If you have any question just send me an email and I will be happy to help.
(3) Go to the following website:

http://www.whatismyip.com/

It will give you your external IP address.  Replace the 127.0.0.1 with that IP address.  This will work, but it is not a permanent solution if your internet provider issues IP address via a protocol call DHCP (which it probably does since you probably don't have a static IP address).

It is trying to get through...however I suspect that you might have a firewall blocking port 86 on your computer.  Do you have a firewall running?

Dag I found some additional information on your modem (written in English) after we got off the phone.  It appears that there is a firewall and a way to configure the portforwarding.  Following is a URL that will show where to configure this on the SpeedTouch modem.

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Thomson-Alcatel/Speedtouch546v6/Speedtouch546v64.jpg

On further investigation, I finally found the manual at the manufacturer (Thomson) website.  Page 66 deals with the issue of the firewall configuration.  Page 55 deals with application sharing (in this case the streaming application that you are running on port 86).

I hope this helps.

You will need to run JAVA

I have tried with three different computers, and it works from all of them.

Dag I don't think it is a Java issue...I have multiple Java JVM's on my computer.  I took a peek at the HTML source and it appears to be having a problem resolving the following URL:

Dag, I can't ping your ip address either.  Do you have pings blocked?  I usually try to ping an address before actually trying the camera commands.
