John,
Very adult of you indeed! Had I still been a homeowner, I'm sure I'd have made a similar choice. Of course, those types of choices and trade-offs are among the very reasons I've abandoned homeownership! I did go for a ride instead... Up to Decatur, AL, for my usual three Penn-burgers. Ummmm, they sure were good, too!!! I'd missed them more than I'd thought...
We had some strong wind, thunder and lightning, and buckets of rain here in Cullman, AL, in the wee hours early this morning. I don't know about any hail, but none of the vehicles parked around our girl had any 'dimples' in their sheet metal, so...
I also adopted a suggestion from Jess about wrapping a bungie or two around the mid-section of the bike cover to reduce inflatability/ballooning. Since this is the same motel where our girl was tipped over last year, I was concerned how that would work... All good!
Good luck with all your responsibilities, my friend... I'm taking today off, but tomorrow my tush will be back in the saddle again! Very 'boyish' of me, don't you think?

Were I a single footloose boyish 70 something, I’d like to think I’d be right there with you! Naturally, I’d need a seasoned nomad such as yourself to show me the finer points of the coddiewomple! Wonderful your girl stayed upright and ready for tomorrow’s adventures. Westward Ho!!!
