The ride to Reds Eats was just a highway run up 84, 95, 295 to RT1.  We rolled up to Reds a little before Noon and walked over to get in line. The couple in front of us had been there before and said this will probably be a 2 hr wait. We decided to hang around a bit and got talking to the others waiting and one of the couples had flown their Cessna up from Staten Island NY. They do this once a year and as we talked time "flew" by so before we knew it we were close to ordering. Total time in line 1 hr 40 min.
4 Lobster Rolls, 2 Crab Rolls, 2 orders of Scallops and some misc extras had us full for the ride to the Ellsworth Comfort Inn.
After checking in we headed for Cadillac MT just to see IF we could fit into a late day cancellation just before Sunset but no good.

The next day we rode the Park Loop Rd and just enjoyed the area, then head for NH.

Out of Bangor I took YB's advice and rode RT2 across through Gorham NH and down 115 to RT3. One of my favorite rides is down thru Franconia Notch into Lincoln where we stayed. We pulled into the parking lot and as we got off the bikes and Al B from RI walked over to say hello.   I was shocked to say the least. Nice to see him and talk a bit.

The next day was a ride up thru Franconia and back down thru Crowford Notch and Bear Notch to the Kanc and all the way across to Bath and pick up 302 into Barre VT for lunch. After lunch we picked up 100 south to Killington and RT4 to Rutland and down RT 7 back home.

Thanks for the advice and help Terry, much appreciated..

P.S.   Lobster ROll at Red's was good but I'll pass on the wait in line next time and see what I can find along the way.

Wow Dan what a great ride! I love riding up in the White Mountains. I've only ridden NH 115 from route 2 south to route 3 once. Sherry was we me. We thought it was spectacular with fantastic views of the Presidential Range. Glad you guys had a great time!  cooldude

Sounds like a good trip Dan....

Yeah, the line at Red's can be long most times....Wally found a good lobstah roll take out shack in Tenants Harbor...I may be wrong with the little town it is located in. Give him a shout next time you plan a ride this way and want lobstah rolls...

Laurel and I rode the mountain roads of NH quite often...Without a doubt it was dozens of times between the 2 bikes...

Thanks guys, it was a much needed get away.
They seem to be fewer and farther between as time goes on.

Old military proverb "hurry up and wait!" I wouldn't wait 1hr 40 minutes for any food item. Sounds like a great trip.

Speaking of getting around, I ran into Dan at a breakfast place in DC for Rolling Thunder. Small world.

Rick, that was quite a surprise to see you.
I haven't been back there in years, is there anything left to the Rolling Thunder ride?
