On e-bay is a 9-gallon fuel tank for a Valkyrie. Item number: 370336088819
Does anyone have a picture of one on a Valk?

If I remember correctly, those composite tanks were prone to leakage... really prone to leakage. In the ad, it says the tank had been sealed... might have been because of that... who knows.

I have never seen a picture with one of those composite tanks mounted.

I just checked, but cannot find pictures of modified valk tanks that I have previously seen on the net. All of them were from Valks in Europe. They cut the tank in half and then widen them in the middle.

They take a big girl and make her obese.

Personally, I would run.  I would worry about your seat fitting on that tank.  Or it actually fitting your bike.  If you are looking for more riding...then look for a belly tank or similar tank.

I not interested in buying it. I've never seen one on a valk. My bladder gives out before I run out of gas now...LOL  :D

Quite a few years ago, a couple Valks within our ranks had one of those 9gal composite tanks.  As I recall... the nose of the tank needed to be shimmed up quite a bit to get enough air to the airbox to allow the bike to run good.  And... they were prone to leaks... I think it was a paint prep issue that caused it.

If I wanted more than my I/S tank's capacity... I'd opt for adding a belly tank into the mix.

The question is not what you look at...but what you see...

There is a guy named MrBones over on the VOAI board that has one of those tanks on his Valk.  You could check with him for a pic.

1 of the 1st ones I saw was on a Red/White from California.

Not sure of their last name, but their 1st names were Rob & Daryl.   They are very involved in the SoCal chapter...........   I believe Rob said he bought it across the pond.   Someone over there was adding a strip in the middle and putting them back together again.........      Looked good........    Somewhere I have a picture of the bike, but God only know which one of the 57 albums it is in.....

The ACE Supertank...carbon fiber, and came with lots of problems.  Leaks, paint pealing, restricted airflow to the engine. ACE: Advanced Composites Engineering (California)

If you search for "supertank" on the old tech archives, there is a bit of information to be found.

I looked into these a few years back and actually had one on order and cancelled it on advice of people that I talked to from here.  Some guys had lots of problem with them and it seems the problems were never really solved - repeat leaks and ship back and forth etc.  The guy at Advanced said that he was not aware of a problem but I didn't want to potentially face the costs of shipping back and forth between countries dealing with warranty.  I think that the one they had for sale at that time was a rework based on their wording of the ad etc.

I decided that an Interstate tank would work for me and give me the range I wanted and costs were a push.

When I slow down, my tank is bigger than when I go fast.
