For my 50 years of football watching, halftime is for the bathroom, kitchen for food or cleaning, watching something on another channel, or a nap.  I like good college marching bands (and majorettes in tight pants) but not pop stars or any of the other theatrical extravaganza bs.   Smiley

My prediction is, if the Chiefs defense can shut down or keep Barkley #26 to limited yardage, the Chiefs will win.   The Eagles don't have a great passing game but, their running game is damn good.   The Eagles also have a very good defensive line.   If they are able to rush or get to Mahomes a lot, then the Chiefs will be greatly challenged.

While I will be pulling for the Chiefs, they have already become a dynasty and I'm loving it.

This reminds me, I need to put that check in the mail for the NFL's Officials Retirement fund.  Cheesy

I'm not pulling for anyone.   (though as games like these progress, I often start pulling for one or the other, depending..)

I'm just hoping for a good clean game that doesn't turn out to be a blowout of one over the other, and decided by the players, and not the refs (and I'm not talking about "fixed" refs which I'm not buying).

The pressure is on everyone, no doubt especially including the refs, and I'm hoping all the bad press on this issue doesn't make them start throwing flags every other play the whole game, and take it over.  Or I may switch over to some old movie instead.

No doubt about that.   I'm a Chiefs fan and don't like having to say that but, you're correct.

BTW, the commercials sucked and I didn't watch the half time show, just not the type of "music" I enjoy.

almost got it right, be best lions vs. bills.  2 teams destined to not win the big dance..

Anthem was not horrible, more tolerable than I thought it would be.  halftime show was not into it since am sure 99.9% of us are not into hip hop/rap either.   But for what he did not saying the N or F word every 10 seconds,  it was tolerable.

chiefs never woke up from their nap before the game for sure.   Pretty non eventful boring game just hope the football pool I was in won something!!!

The haters will always believe the Chiefs got to the SB by buying off the Refs. all I can say, they (Chief's opponents) didn't deserve to be there.   No doubt, the Chiefs let us down tonight.   Congrats to the Eagles, they played a great game (even if I didn't like the outcome).

Reference the commercials, I wasn't impressed.   Thought the Pickle Ball one was cute and as always like seeing the Clydesdales but, none of the others were attention worthy IMHO but, what do I know.  I would expect any 30 second spot to be pretty dang good for $7M, not including the cost of making that commercial.

Super Bowl attendance isn't really for the average fan regardless of who their team is.

Here are the craziest Super Bowl concession prices for Chiefs vs. Eagles from this $59 drink to a $36 nachos

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/here-are-the-craziest-super-bowl-concession-prices-for-chiefs-vs-eagles-from-this-59-drink-to-a-36-nachos/ar-AA1yIlre?ocid=msedgntp&pc=LCTS&cvid=37426e53207c4e8b81fdeeb89a599625&ei=23

Quote
NEW ORLEANS -- The most expensive part of attending a Super Bowl is definitely buying the ticket, but even after you've acquired one of those, things aren't going to get much cheaper once you're at the game and that's because nearly everything about attending the game is expensive, including the concessions.

For Super Bowl LIX, there's a good chance that any fan who attends is going to spend north of $100 on concessions and that's because the food and drink prices at the game are astronomical.

The most expensive drink at the Caesars Superdome is Voodoo Magic, which will set you back $59 if you want to get one.

So that does that $59 buy you? Glad you asked. The main ingredient is Don Julio 1942 and then that's mixed with Grand Marnier Cuvée du Centenaire, lime juice, jalapeño syrup, and mango purée. It's also garnished with black magic seasoning and dehydrated lime wheel, which basically makes the $59 worth it.

If you don't want to fork over $59, there's also a $40 drink called a blackberry lemonade. Unlike the Don Julio drink, this one is pretty simple, it consists of just Crown Royal blackberry and lemonade.

If you buy both drinks, you'll only be out $99. Of course, if you're going to spend nearly $100 on drinks, you'll also need some food. One of the most expensive things available is the Super Bowl ultimate nachos, which will set you back $36.

There's also a Surf and Turf Po'Boy that will cost you $30.

If you want a taste of New Orleans while in the Big Easy, you can also get an alligator sausage for $21, which might actually be worth it.

Based on these prices, if you attend the game with a family of four, you might end up spending hundreds of dollars, so maybe just leave the family at home and go to the game by yourself.

First, even though my team was in this Super Bowl I would not have attended, I don't like crowds that large.   But there's absolutely no way I could afford the average upper seat tickets.   I do expect that future SBs, World Series, NBA and other championships will become Pay Per View and at that point, I'll probably be done watching.

Kind of like politics, it's all about the money.

A four man rush defense. Reminded me of the Steel Curtain days. Changed channels at halftime as the only protest available. Wink Springsteen in XLIII SB ruined it for me and I haven't never watched it since. After the thrashing of Washington and Chiefs winning by one score or less all season, not at all surprised. Jalen Hurts with 2 interceptions all seasons unless I missed one while cooking my supper. You can see Mahomes and T.K. faces right after the Eagles 1st. drive plus Chris Jones neck injury, it was pretty much kinda set in stone. Still admire Patrick and Reed.

Ole' Terry Bradshaw probably has smile on his face.  Smiley I just hope Joe Cool and crew get their chit together and the Colt's, thats a debacle at the very least.  Roll Eyes

Pretty much agree, the Eagles dominated on defense.   The Chiefs have been challenged all season with their Offensive Line not being as dominate as it needed to be.   Chief's Tight End receptions were greatly reduced due to the TEs additional blocking assignments.   IIRC, Mahomes got sacked 6 times with two interceptions.   That's no way to win a SB.  As a Chief's fan, I believe they will still be contenders next season but, they have to address that OL.

we knew the eagles defensive was good, but the REFS coulda even called more holding calls on the chiefs linemen since they were scrambling often to HOLD the defense back.

I saw a few plays the Chiefs DEFENSIVE pass rushers were standing around unable to get thru the superior offensive line of the Eagles as well basically giving up any attempt at pass rushing.

I think both the offensive and defensive linemen should won the MVP for Eagles vs. just the QB, but that is not the way it goes.

Perspective Cookie, that's your perspective.   The Refs would have thrown flags had they agreed with you.  Obviously, you're one that thinks the Refs favored the Chiefs all season long.   Won't go into all the different things that have been said, let it go, the season is over.   Roll Eyes

The chiefs looked all sad after the loss but I’m sure they will be happier when they cash that $96,000 check. If help was given it was valuable help indeed.
