So im new to Valkyre ownership but im not new to the dangers of failing vacuum petcocks. Worst pile of crap ive ever seen in 25 years of wrenching. First a bit of bike background. I took it in trade for work and it has 7724 original miles. Its a 98 1500C.
Guy told me engines seized but i knew better. Took off front cover and a few wiggles with a wrench and it spun. Hit starter and heard the tell all sign of broke starter gears or clutch. Took starter out and looked in and found the idler gear and axle were hanging down. They hydro locked it due to these schitzy  abominations of a petcock. Bought a junk donor engine and swapped parts and rear case and it runs great.
So first thing i wanted was to use a manual petcock ad found the tgread about the 18-4133 . So my questions are does the original knob slide right on and what positions on tge face plate will indicate fuel on and fuel off,

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your new relationship. Smiley

Is this the petcock you are asking about?  If so, I can't see how the OEM knob will fit.

The OEM unit you showed will fit and has no vacuum system. The petcock handle should fit perfect. The pointer from down to up is : ON: OFF: RESERVE.

Is the brass stand pipe the same height as the Valk original? It sets the amount of reserve in the tank.
