I figure it this way I have less of a chance of dying in my Toyota than I do riding my Valk on the roads with runaway Toyotas and cell phones!  uglystupid2

I have to confess something.

While talking to a coworker yesterday I found out that one of his friends had an incident with her Toyota.  He said that she couldn’t stop, the car raced up to 106 mph, she had both her feet pressed as hard as she could on the breaks, she shoved it into neutral but nothing happened until she slowed down enough from pushing the breaks as hard as possible.

Seems like maybe there is something to this.  I just can’t believe everything I hear in the news anymore.  It’s too soon after an election year.

All I have to say is....I NEVER had these problems with my 55 Chevy Belaire !  My Valk gets 30mpg and my 1985 4wd Subaru wagon gets 27mpg.  All of them should have been CRUSHED for scrap under cash for clunkers to save the environment from global warming. I could rant longer but I think every one knows where I'm going with this.........

ALL cars are not simple any more.  Much more reliable but when they go wrong...............

Many years ago, I was driving my '62 Ford truck home when the engine went to idle, accelerator did nothing.  I stopped and found the accel cable broke.  I pulled the air cleaner, detached the choke cable and hooked it up to the throttle instead. Drove home using the choke cable for acceleration. Kinda a bitch to co-ordinate clutch and throttle but I soon got the hang of it.

The more I watch, read about this I can't understand why vehicles such as cars don't have a little red button like my lawnmower and my valk to handle this problem. Seems to me alot of life and $ would have been saved if all cars had kill switches. Maybe someone should ask our crongessmen who don't seem to understand what the heck is happening.

I think its called the key!  Wink

I dont know anyone that has used the 'red button' on a bike in accident. To me clutch and brake are more of a priority.  crazy2

If I turn the key all the way off in my Jeep the steering locks, I was thinking more of a switch on the steering wheel that cuts the power, something like the radio controls they have on some car steering wheels. Might be a problem though when someone hits it by accident while traveling done the road.
