Quick question, does any one have one of Memphis Shades' Batwing fairings on their Tourer or Standard, and do you have a pic or an opinion on them? thanks

Sorry, I don't have a pic of mine yet, right now it is off for I painting.
I hope it will be on soon, they are talking about warm air flowing up here.

Jim, do you like your fairing, does it fit good, how about the quality, I know Memphis shades makes some nice stuff but I've never seen one up close. They are selling on Ebay for $389.00 is it worth the price? thanks  for the help guys

got mine on e-bay for $293.00 and no shipping. That included all hardware and choice of windshield. Look a bit harder and you can save alot ! I did. But is still  at paint shop.

OLDMAN,
I like it, the quality seems fine, especially when you figure that comparable units are 2 to 3 times the amount at other places. I have played with it some, I bought an aftermarket windshield for it because when I bought mine the tallest one they had was 9 inch, I went with a 12 inch.

The short time that I had it mounted, it seemed to function very well. I ran through a light rain storm and the rider I was with was mentioning about how wet his gloves were, and I looked at mine and noticed that they were dry.

The only issue I have with it is I think that the mounts that I got with mine were for the VTX 1800, I don't think they mounted the fairing up-right enough, so I modified them about an 1 1/2 inches at the top, pushing the fairing foreword at the top.

Another thing I changed was the headlight, the fairing seems to swallow the headlight when mounted normally, so I bought a 2inch headlight extension from Darryl at   www.xf6-custom.com  I like the look just fine now, you can see just about the whole headlight ring. Like everything else, your tastes may vary.

All in all, I think it's just fine for the money.

I went the low budget path and found an old busted up Harley fairing at a swap meet. The brackets for the fairing were pricey on ebay, but I was able to modify them to fit the OEM windshield mounts on the bike. The Rustoleum and roller paint job looks good from a distance.  :2funny:

The difference from windshield to batwing is signicant. Keeping the wind off your hands really makes a difference. I was able to cut the windshield (Home Depot lexan) down to about 7" to easily look over it with hardly any buffeting to over a buck airspeed.
