Caprice Police package was the only real police car I ever had. 0 to 130 in a flash (computer shut it down there), tons of room and handled very nice. Wore a set of rear tires off in one oil change (5000 miles). The ABS was a lifesaver too. Had the Crown Vic before the Imapla and there was no comparison between them. Ford had the better idea of traction control, having the brakes grab to stop the spinning, to say they were worthless in the snow would be kind. I am to old to care now, they give me an Impala to drive to the office where I stand in the courtroom and make the stupid behave. Another year or less and I will be a full time Valkyrie rider so I can put up with it.
I happen to be the original owner of a 1995 Impala SS. 165,000 miles and the thing is still fun to drive. The Impala had all the mechanical goodies of the police package except for the silicone hoses, 5/8" balljoint studs and the word certified on the instrument cluster.
