Spent $400 at HDL today, the lions share of that on 2 new Goldwing rotors to replace the VERY worn stockers on my '97. I'll hit 99,000 miles this weekend & it's also time for a new front Avon. So I thought while I have the front wheel off I'll slap on the new rotors. Already have new OE pads & new wheel bearings in my stash. I also ordered all new retaining bolts for the rotors just in case.
The question I have is, are the rotor bolts gonna be a PITA to get out considering the age & miles on my Valk? Also, I ordered Valkyrie retainer bolts not GW bolts, is that combo gonna work properly?

Any help or tricks from those of you that have been there & done that is appreciated! :cooldude:

'13 F6B black-the real new Valkyrie Tourer
'13 F6B red for Kim
'97 Valkyrie Tourer r&w, OLDFRT's ride now!
'98 Valkyrie Tourer burgundy & cream traded for Kim's F6B
'05 SS 750 traded for Kim's F6B
'99 Valkyrie black & silver Tourer, traded in on my F6B
'05 Triumph R3 gone but not forgotten!

fudgie

My bolts came of easy on the rear wheel. its alot worse then my front. 50,000 miles tho.

If you have problems, heat them up a little with a propane torch to break the old thread lock.

Yes these are the required ones.

Same steps as installing OEM rotors. You'll be alright!  :cooldude:
I still have a full deck.
I just shuffle slower ...

You might try breaking them loose while the tire is still on the bike and on the ground.

When I put the rotors on the front of MGM from across the pond, I also replaced the mounting bolts, so I just hit my old ones with the impact wrench.    NO problem.

I also added anti sieze to the mounting bolts.
