Judy and I are planning on departing Crestview EARLY friday the 30th North on 331 to the bypass around Montgomery east on the bypass to Hwy 9 and nine all the way up to the turn off to the park.  If you want to meet up somewhere and ride together that would be cool, depending on when you are going and where you want to route etc....let me know....my email is on my profile or here  cooldude

Jeff, what do you think of the route we took up last year? Meet at Elba at the Subway on 84 around 08:00. Then eat lunch at the Court Square Cafe in Ashland around 13:00. Then if someone wants to meet anywhere in between we can list times to meet.

I'm going to be leaving in the late morning.  I gotta put the mutts at the vets for the weekend.  What's the best route there?

I like HWY 9 from just north of montgomery.....nice peaceful meandering road that takes you right to the base of the "mountain"

we'll have to firm up the time as we get closer...i think Steve mentioned 100?

Marty...only a couple of ways to get up the mountain...either 9 to 49 to 281....or 281 from I-20....or ..."the back way". Kind of hard to explain the backway here....but basically...from Oxford or Talladega...take 21....21 North out of Dega....21 South out of Oxford...and there is a turnoff to a county road marked "Cheaha State Park". Turn onto that county road...follow it to another turn ...again marked Cheaha State Park....and...come on up the back way. The back way is not as well marked and the road is not in as good a shape........

Either way will give you some nice riding/views......

Lunch plans for Friday...definitely at the COurt Square Cafe in Ashland...and unless we hear otherwise...about 100........
