So, I really can't afford it right now, but I'd like some better suspension... being from Louisiana, there's probably not a set that's good enough...

What are the choices out there??? (And prices...)

CR, I don't know what version of Valk you have but if you've got a Standard or Tourer, you should find a set of low mileage Interstate rear shocks and install them.  In addition, I would put Progressive springs in the forks with Honda's fork oil.  Waitaminit!!  That's what I did for Mississippi's crappy roads.
