Why go to all that trouble when a stock factory built Valkyrie will run for 400,000+ miles on basic maintenance?

Can only say 400,000+ miles because I don't know of anyone with more miles on their Vlkyrie.

It's ok to share, Greg.  I just get a little touchy when someone posts a full blown advertisement for a vendor.

I'm all for members letting other members know where they got their good stuff.   cooldude

I don't begrudge someone liking that way to go.  I see the allure.  I just don't like the ANTI-Non HD mentality.

I have a buddy with a 160 HP HD Low Rider Sport.  It's a beast... but like you said... I'll race him across the country.

What machining did you have to do on yours? I just made a gasket.

Took the O ring grove off, to get a little more surface contact against the engine case. # 3506 oil filter, did this 2002, prolly not necessary overkill on my part, also that chrome fender trim was hitting, i would have just took it off but Big holes in fender LOL. JK you using the B&M cooler?

I have made a template for the radiator side tank covers, to be replaced with Polished wind deflectors to channel air toward the radiator, to catch more air, one of my chrome stock covers is cracked at the bolt area, just using flat Aluminum stock the length of the side tank with a brake press bend at about 22% and 1/4"flat stock at the bottom to support them as one piece, I seen you have a IS, you ever have any over heat issues. I have kicked my Dyna to #4 and retard back to 4* getting better MPG but heard some marbles last Sun in 4th hammered, had to give my neighbor a little Blow by at the end of our cruise.

Yes, I'm still fighting the overheating issue. I've tried a lot of things, and they all help, but when stuck in standstill traffic I start gaining heat. I'm going to have to check my timing map, I may be able to pull some timing out at idle.
Working on getting a bigger radiator made but it's not something I want to do. The pods are tough to fit now. It would mean retrofiting everything.
