Am starting to look for hard bags for my Std. have seen the Tsuyaku (spelling?) and the Mutazu.
The Mutazu "RS" seem to have a look I like and they are under 300 bucks (plus shipping).
Anyone have experience with either of these or would you suggest another after market?
What about mounting systems? Do I use what is supplied with the bags or go with Easy Brackets or similar?
The Easy Brackets I've seen in pics seem to be real visible and hold the bags quite a ways off the bike.
Looking for first hand experience.

Like comparing apples and oranges. The Tsukayu bags are fiberglass, while the Mutazu are plastic. I don't know if the Mutazu "RS" are any better then other stuff I have seen from them, but the ones I have seen just scream plastic. I have never seen these ones in person, so can't say for sure.

I have owned two sets of Tsukayu bags and can tell you they are a quality item. The mounting system is bulletproof solid and the latches and hinges, etc. seem to be made to last. Have a nice lining too. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I mounted mine a few years ago, but it was pretty easy... just remember measure twice and drill once. I know Sodbuster, a member here, just recently put a set on... maybe he can chime in with some tips/opinions.

I just finished installing a set of there bags and the trunk with a rack.   I had a set of national bags that I replaced.  The quick disconnect national brackets could not be reused as I had planned. The brackets that came with the bags were easy to rework with a spacer. I will send you a picture via e-mail of them on the bike.

Not long ago i got the jumbo strong bags they make and love them.  The jumbo strong are slightly larger than standard Valkyrie saddle bags..  The newer ones fit close to the bike.

I installed a set of the Tsukayu "Strong" bags in addition to a Hic Doc trailer hitch over the winter. The "Strong" bags are a little smaller than the "Jumbo" bags. The bags did NOT have any holes drilled in them so that added to the install time but they are nicely made.  I had stronger keys made cause the ones that came with it were pretty cheesy.  All in all I would recommend them.  If interested I have more pics during the install.  If I remember I paid like $340 after discounts, coupons, etc. at the time. I added the silver graphics myself.

I had the Mutazu bags on VTX I use to have. Cheap bags and not very well made. They did ok on a get by. Save your money and get the other bags.

I purchased the Tsukayu Jumbo bags last fall, just have not had time to put them on.  The bags are very much what I was looking for and the mounting seems easy enough for a universal kit.

I'm still looking for some graphics sheets like Sodbuster put on his.  Very nice touch!

As far as the graphics go I just ordered some 4" striping material and cut it to the shape that you see. I was able to order 8' instead of the whole roll. Also got some 3/16" to match the maroon color.

Also, if you're not planning on putting on a trailer hitch as I did you may want to add the support brace that Tsukayu offer's to attach to the bottom towards the rear.  The trailer hitch offered additional support to the mounting brackets as they hang down. I had some diagonal pieces (1/4" alum.) fabbed up at work to go between the brackets and the bags which added more support to the bags.

Thanks for the info.
It has/will help(ed) my decision. Leaning toward the "Strong" bags.

Sodbuster, where did you find discounts/coupons?

I bought them last fall HDL (Honda Direct Line). Someone on this board had posted a code number that you could plug in and get 15 % off. I looked up my records and I ended up paying $434 with free shipping .... a little off from my previous statement.
