I don’t know if anyone else has ordered from Iron Pony Direct LLC but I wish I had not done so.

I ordered a Scorpion EXO 900 helmet from them since I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Well to begin with, I never received an “E” mailed order confirmation from them. When I called the next day they said one had been sent and they would send another. I received that confirmation, but the one they claimed to have sent first never showed up here or in my online spam folder.

At the time I called them I told them I would prefer to cancel the order since I was now nervous about them as a company. They said my helmet had already been shipped from California and the order could not be canceled since the helmet was on the way.

Well that was on June 3’rd and I still haven’t received my helmet. When I called them today they said the helmet had been shipped to them but they had not yet received it. And that after they received it they would send it to me. No tracking numbers offered of course.

Perhaps I’m too impatient but if I had ordered it from JP cycles or Dennis Kirk I would have already had it or had a good explanation why I didn’t. I assume I will eventually get the helmet but if I had it to do over I would have never ordered from them. And to top it off a salesman and friend at the local Honda dealer told my son he could have had it for me in 2 days for $40 less.

Just a heads up for the rest of you.

Thanks

Iron Pony is off the list and that sure is one screwed up company.

One question, did they speak with accent?

Just wondering.

Generally if I call a compnay and i can't understand them on the phone, then we don't make a order.

That's my rule.

Unless she is sexy and French.

That's my other rule.

Never heard of them but after your post, won't purchase anything form them.

I have had real good luck with the Motorcycle Superstore,

I've always had great luck with  http://www.newenough.com/  Be sure and check out their closeouts and bargain basement pages.  You can find some really good deals there occasionally.

Never ordered anything on line from Iron Pony, but their store is near Columbus, Ohio, so when I'm visiting the in-laws I always stop to browse.  The store is in a WalMart sized building, so is a great place to check out multiple manufacturers gear and then I shop for the best price on line.  I could spend hours in that store, all kinds of gear for all kinds of bikes.

I'm glad to hear that. I was beginning to think they were a make-believe company that I had given my credit card info to.

Here's a link to a couple of pictures of their store.

It looks even bigger on the inside and when I was looking at summer mesh pants, the salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Again, never bought anything on line, but have purchased things in their store.

I live in Columbus, and have watched Iron Pony go from selling in an old converted two pump gas station, through a couple of larger buildings, and now to an old K-Mart that went out of business.  When they first moved into the old K-Mart, you would walk in there and the place would echo.  Now it's stuffed with merchandise.  My point being, they've been around a long time and they now are one of the largest stores you could ever hope to see for MC stuff.  I've never ordered from them on-line.  Never had to; I live here.  Their sales staff can be marvelously educated on the product they're selling, but their customer service keeps me alert.  My impression is they are not going to give an inch on anything.  If there is a misunderstanding on a product that has been purchased, their viewpoint will prevail.  Your story of the helmet being ordered fits my perspective of how they operate.  I do business with them, but I'm careful.
