Does anyone know what kind of foam ( or whatever) the 01 Valkyrie seat and newer ones are made of ?
I've heard here that the seats were much better after 2000. I have 70,000 miles on my 01 Valkyrie standard seat and although it is not perfect I have never felt the need to replace it with an aftermarket seat. The worst for me after several hours is my butt feels a little bit flat.

I would appreciate those who also have a ST1300 if they would chime in. I recently bought a new (09 ST1300), I love it but the seat is killing me. During the 1st 700 miles my butt got sore real quick in about a 1/2 hour ride. So I had the seat modified by Spencer in Florida and while it is better my butt now burns after about an hour of riding. I have gone about 800 miles on the modified seat as recommended to break it in. From the ST Forum I can tell you that way more guys change or modify their ST1300 seats than we do who own Valkyrie's.

THANK God I did'nt trade my Valkyrie. First time ever in life (67 yrs old) that I kept my old bike when buying a new one, I was afraid I would miss my Valk and would be unable to replace it. The Valkyrie seat foam is much firmer than the new ST1300 seat foam. I hope some one can shed some light on my dilema.

Sorry such a long "rant"  Embarrassed
