A few weeks ago I went for a ride around OKC.  It was one of those I gotta get out of here and go for a ride, type of days.  I didn't have to be at work until 3pm, and later that night I got a call about the big fire we had on our ranch.  So I never did get around to posting a few pictures....

I didn't really go very far, just cruised around to a few parks in OKC.  First stop was Dolese Park, which has a fairly large sports complex, some nice hiking trails, and a small lake.

I pretty much had the place to myself, except for a few local Canadian Geese.

Next stop was Stars and Stripes Park at Lake Hefner.  Lake Hefner is primarily a Sailing lake.  (No skiiing, or jetski's allowed.)

One of the marinas.

And of course, I had to take the dam tour.

Nothing all that exciting, but it was a good ride on a day I really needed a ride.

That's the kind of ride that I like Scott.  Just get out and ride, see the local sights and sites.  I'm more for relaxing rides nowadays, no schedule to meet, no plan, no heavy traffic, no noise, just ride.

To me, lots of those kinds of rides make up for the planned in advance longer rides and  events that I miss .

That's how 99.9% of my rides started out and I forgot to turn around and come home.......  Till maybe 5 or 6,000 miles later.......

cooldude   Those are the best rides..... though I expected more pictures of the Dam tour!    those damn dams sometimes make for good photo ops!
