If I could have flown in to LGA picked this up and been back to Nashville in time for work Monday, I would have owned this bike.  Hopefully one of you guys in the NY area can take advantage of this persons generosity!

HS what a smokin' deal. If I needed another valk I'd be all over this one.

I can't believe the post is still up at that price.

Thanks for the offer Oss, I really appreciate it.

I was within inches of booking a flight to LGA picking it up and taking the ferry from Orient to New London, CT and dropping it off at my in-laws.

I guess I'm starting to feel my age when the thought of the fatigue outweighs the thrill of the motorcycle!!

The CraigsList posting is gone - I'm curious now, was it a '98 for $2800 or so? If so, it's a scam - see my posting here, it's number 6:

And a great (scam) in Hawaii... Another Valk

If it's NOT the same, as Rosanna said, Never mind....

Just want to make sure that the scam info gets out there...

I don't think this one was a scam.  You are correct the posting is no longer there, however the same bike has been reposted for $2,000 more just 50 miles further east on Long Island.

http://longisland.craigslist.org/mcy/1801283106.html

One of two things happened:

(1) The original seller realized that he was selling the bike too low

or

(2) The most likely scenario is that someone on Long Island is about to make a 50% profit on their investment from the previous day!

It is still a decent buy at 6K.................

You're right - very nice looking! Sure like the tourer, I'm still looking for affordable bags. Probably end up with the Tsukayu's - they look pretty nice for the money, especially since "stock" seem to go for over a grand.

Again, just want everyone aware of scams - most people would possibly trust an escrow, so it's conceivable that maybe 1 out of 1000 would jump on a "too good to be true" deal, and 10,000 see it, that's still $28,000, almost overnight.
