Canton, MI

We're travelling from MI heading out west.  Somehow, we've miscalculated (drove further than we had planned) and we aren't due in Hill City, SD til Thursday.  We're in Wisconsin and wondering if anyone has suggestions of what we can do in Sioux Falls, SD as we're probably going to spend our spare day there, unless anyone has a better suggestion!
thanks,

I say continue on I-90, eh  Undecided , and hit Mitchel. Few little tourest stuff there. Corn palace, ect. Head to Wall SD and take the Badlands loop. Alot of little stops west of the Missouri River to see at your leisure. Me personally I'd take the 300 miles to Sturgis/Rapid City. Should be able to get a room at better prices. Spend a day or to there and check things out. Then take Vanocker Canyon outta Sturgis all the way to Hill City. With a turn or two. Hit all the places north of Hill City and when your resv are in you can hit all the stuff around Hill City and south. Saves you from driving back and forth. Black Hills HD at exit 55 always has stuff going on.

Just my opinion. Sioux Falls is a really nice city but it really is more of the area shopping mecca as opposed to a touristy mecca. I suppose if you tried hard you could find enough sights to fill the day in Sioux Falls, but the city never struck me that way.

So, I think the Mitchel suggestion is a pretty good one. Gotta see the Corn Palace. Nice town too.

Also about 80 some miles east of Sioux Falls is the Iowa Great Lakes just south of Jackson Minn. on Hwy 71. Could actually spend the better part of the day there looking at the sights and attractions. Some great lakeside restaurants, some touristy stuff and some interesting sights around the lake.
