Have done a cleanout of the carbs. Installed a pingle and a dan-marc electric shutoff. All was well for 200 miles. My bike sat for a two weeks due to work and now its acting like its running out of fuel. Anyone had this trouble, I dont want to tare it back apart for something stupid. tickedoff

Just did the same thing over the winter. Might sound simple, but check the length of your fuel line. Mine was a tad long and kinked causing fuel starvation. Stranded on the side of the road about 40 miles from home (yes, it took that long to manifest itself).
A very nice rider (on a Harley, not that that makes a difference) stopped and ran home and got tools. Took the tank off, cut about 1/2" off the line. It was then just long enough, almost too short. It got me home though.
I added a redeye fuel-line disconnect kit... all works well now.

Here's hoping it's something that simple.

cooldude I too had to remove about 3/8" after seeing kinking. I was never stranded but could have been. I didn't end up using the redeye disconnect kit and it's not too bad getting to the fuel line with the Pingle.

Thank you all for this thread. I read it a few weeks ago and it caught my interest as I had recently installed an inline filter, dan-marc electric fuel shutoff, and pingle. I wondered if it might happen to me after a few hundred miles. And after almost exactly 200 it did happen! A quick check revealed not one...but two bends right by the pingle. Amazing this is it would still do 75 pulling a trailer. But I could sure tell that was all she had to give.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Who knows what I would have taken apart without your posts!
