Its really ironic. First I bought my Ford pick-up new in 1993 it has 198,000 miles on it. I bought one set of front brake pads and get new sets free because they are lifetime warranteed. I think I got two more sets so far. I bought shoes for the back brakes 6 years ago have yet to put them on...they too are life-time. So in 17 years I have spent less than $50 on brakes for this vehicle. TODAY I inspected the rear brakes exptecting to see worn needing to be replaced shoes....nope, plenty fat, the inside of the drums shiney with appropriate wear marks all the way around evenly and some brake dust in the drum.
I inspected them because they were acting funny. I usually set them every time I change oil....(which I did today) but I didnt want to set them if they needed changing..........acting fine again after setting
Life time warrantee shoes and I havent even installed them in 198,000 miles. Valkyrie, $100.00 for brakes and they last 30K or so then another $100.00

Only reason you need brakes in Flordia is to keep from runnin' over one of the blue hairs ...No hills ...no curves...no brakes

My one experience with Florida drivers leads me to believe they don't bury the elders there - just strap em in and put it on cruise control...

Well, here is one elder you don't have to worry about. I'm in Indiana and I avoid Buicks driven by persons with blue hair. When I'm driving the Miata, move over, stop, or get out of the way because I'm coming through. The he** with this idea that I'm supposed to act my age at 82.

Acting your age? That would condone the stereotyping of all maturity levels...I will not participate in such childish behavior I will leave generation profiling to the old farts! Seriously, one is only as old as they feel, Some days I feel older than Stonehenge ! But I hope to never act that old, thanx for showing us how it's done Solo1 !

Maybe I shouldn't be but I'm constantly amazed at how sloppy drivers are in their driving. They constantly cut the corners in curves or run off the road, Don't even slow for stop signs, try to merge onto the interstate at 30 mph AND THEN slow down to 'wait' for an opening, blow through intersections with stale yellow lights, have no idea who goes first at 4 way stops, in general driving with their finger up their arse. AND all this is when they're NOT eating, drinking coffee, using a cell phone, or texting!
I think that all drivers should be required to ride a motorcycle for one year. Darwin will weed out the dummies.

The answer is that with the possible exception of what you may or may not have done in the back of your pickup truck, which vehicle gives you more excitement/pleasure/memories. If you got more excitement from the truck then you got ripped on the Valk pads however I figure you probably got more excitement from the Valk in which case the extra cost for pads can be considered an Entertainment tax.

If you just never stop on the Valk, the pads will last nearly forever.
