Anybody know what are the chances of seeing the Northern Lights from Inzane 10? I know they're not predictable but it seems like ground zero is pretty far north. Any suggestions on where in the area to go to look. Thanks

I would say good if the conditions are right, Inzane is a little further north than the area I live and we see them regularly late at night during the summer.

Dale, check out http://www.spaceweather.com/ they have predictions on the northern lights.  Unfortunately it looks like solar activity is down at the moment. Here's hoping it flares up during inZane!  Smiley

We saw the northern lights in Jasper, British Columbia in August of '03. Very cool. The wife and I couldn't sleep so we went for a night walk. I thought I was having a flashback (flashbacks are free. Already paid for) when I looked to the sky and saw these strange lights moving about.  cooldude I'd love to see them again.

You need to get away from city lights. Any place in the country. It doesn't matter if your on a hill or not, So If you should spot some then head to the country asap. Time at night varies as does their brightness and how long they last.If you get real lucky you will see the best show the universe has to offer. If you have never seen them before at all it'll nock your socks off. Really bright they will appear milti color with vairing vertical strikes revolving circles. I have seen them at their truly finnest hour up in Grand Forks N.D. at 2 Am.

It doesn't appear to be likely. According to this site http://fairbanks-alaska.com/northern-lights-alaska.htm the aurora is now at the lowest point of the 22 year cycle. Frequency during higher cycles appears to be greatest during the winter months and the equinoxes, from 6 pm to 1 am.
