I forgot to post this yesterday...........I was out on the bike yesterday and it happened TWICE..........twice I tell you and its proof that Mother Honda is making some big mistakes. I get off the bike at Lowes and a woman parks a minivan next to me before I even get off the bike. Se waits for me to get my helmet off and then as she is trying ot pronounce V A L K Y R I E I tell her how "just like the movie".......she says something after that that shocked me .......she says "that sure is a pretty bike" I smile, and before I can say thanks she finishes with "who makes that?" I tell her Honda and she say "Really...........Honda, that is a pretty bike and walks off" Like Honda only makes ugly bikes????????? lol Then after riding around town I figure Id get some gas.......as Im getting off at the pump a guy says "WOW, look at that engine........is that original?" I say yes, factory motor......he says the same thing the lady at Lowes said "Wow, that is nice how they fit that big thing in there, who makes that" Again someone is surprized that a NICE bike is made by Honda

I've only had mine just over a month (after 7 Wings), but a gent came up, and said "So, THAT'S what my Goldwing 1000 looks like, all grow'd up!!". We talked for quite a while, and I got to show off the Nickle Trick, for the first time...
Gotta love it...

Good story, So i got the day off yesterday, and decide to go to DMV, my tag expires every June and my bike is in controlled storage 10 miles away, as i am sitting at DMV for 2 hr's the ole guy next to my strikes conversation, he says he is registering his Harley, cool i said, he tells me how he paid 500 bucks for a 1965 Pan, and so on, and no matter how many times it breaks he would not be caught dead on a Honda and on and on, so after 45 minutes my # was up! thank God! i got up shook his hand firmly and said....well got to go pay for my tag for my Honda!! It's good to be humble, after all that,... the Teller said why are you here? for this!...She said you paid for 2 years! does not expire till next June! have a nice day

I had an OLD guy at a gas station tell me... "That SURE is a pretty new bike you got there. I said, "Thank you, but I'll tell you the truth.... She's 11 years old!"
He says... well she sure looks nice! My son has a Hardley, and I sure do like your Honda there a lot better than that noisy POS he rides!"
I thought I was gonna lose it. I LOVE old dudes.

At a BBQ with a bunch of Naked Goldwingers - that sounds kind of weird At a BBQ with a bunch of Goldwing fanatics that like to strip down the old wings to look like Valks They said the Valk was the ultimate Naked Wing Yeh Honda is missing the boat alright - I have had many compliments on the Valk - same sort of thing - thats a Honda ?

I spent the last three days at a hotel with about 260 other women riders. Lots of bikes in the parking lot, between the ladies and their guests .... I saw my 11 year old I/S turning a lot of heads, and she's still basic black.
Quality shows -- even through fresh road grime.

Was filling up the bike when a guy pulls up and complements her. Asks what size engine? 1520CC boxer engine. We keep talking and he has lots of WOWS and NICE comments. Nice to get recognition once in a while. Nobody thinks she is a 97.

THERE WAS A LOT OF NICE BIKES OUT BACK - WHEN I WAS READY TO LEAVE AND WENT BACK OUT FRONT TO MY VALK THE GUY AT THE DOOR CHECKING ID'S TOLD ME THAT THERE WHERE MANY PEOPLE CHECKING OUT MY VALK LIKE IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL NAKED WOMAN. WE TALKED FOR A FEW MINUTES ABOUT THE VALK AND UPON LEAVING TOLD ME TO PUT IT IN THE SHOW NEXT TIME. THESE VALK'S REALLY DO GET THE ATTENTION!!!! BUT THEY HAVE EARNED IT...... KEEP 'EM POLISHED AND ROLLIN...

When I bought my valkyrie I didn’t buy it for anyone to look at, but they do. Actually, I’m not crazy about it ‘cause I’m not much for talking to total strangers but this bike does that to people.
I was at a home improvement store, and when I came out to leave there was a guy gawking at my cycle. I get my helmet out of the trunk and he starts asking questions like who makes it, how big is that engine anyway, how fast does it go…… so, I show him the nickel trick, he just about died!! Then when I told him it was a Honda, he gets that dumbfounded look on his face, and says “really”. Funny thing is when I told him it was 11 years old he says “no way, wanna sell it?” I said no, at first, and then said, maybe, for ten grand!! I actually think I could have sold it right then and there!! Problem is, I’d have to go shopping again for another one!!

i stopped at a gas station here in lil ole Hebron to fill up. as i was reaching for my credit card, i heard a small voice say thats a pretty bike. when i turned around i had to say "excuse me", the elderly gentleman said "thats a perty bike"/ i of course said thanks. he said hes rode a lot of bikes but mine was nice. after talking a while i found out he led the Shriner's bike patrol on harleys and goldwing for 28 years. i said i was impressed with that and appreciated what he did. he appeared to be @80, but he said "if he could he would have one of those". i thought my shirt was gonna bust. nice to meet someone like that who uses their passion to help kids.!

I went on a Camp Cadet charity ride yesterday and a group of bikes was meeting up at a local Sheetz for the escorted trip to the registration area. I went in to get a coffee and when I came back out there were even more bikes out there. As I came up to my bike I saw a rider pointing at my bike and overheard him say that if Honda were still making those things he would have got one of them instead of his Ultra (which was parked next to my IS). I walked up to my bike and put the coffee cup in the holder and said " I heard that... and you could have bought a good used Valkyrie or TWO for lots less than what you paid for your Ultra". As he nodded in agreement, I did compliment his bike by saying "Yours looks nice too tho". I was the only Valkyrie on that ride and it got more than a few looks.

I got a last minute e-mail from Wounded Warriors about an escort of a three tour hero. So after work, I am heading to the rally point when I see in my mirrors mc headlights. I am at 65 on the speedo and cruising along nicely when he pulls up behind me and take his position at my 5. So get on the throttle a little more and let him catch up, then again now about 85 again I let him catch up, the we hit a little traffic (super slab) so I get on the throttle again and get her to about 105 leaving him in trailing. At the exit for the rally point I pull in, and he pulls up and parks next to me. When he gets off his VTX 1300 and say, WOW a Valk IS...we talked for a few minutes, then he offered to buy mine from me...I said come to my funeral...and then talk to my wife...but she will not be sold while I am still alive. Out of the WW Riders that were there, they all checked out my bike...I introded myself, this was my second ride with them...another great group... The escort was awesome, GOD BLESS the heros!!!

While having breakfast a couple weeks ago, a guy wearing a HD t shirt walks out with his 12- 13 year old daughter. My big Valk is in front and he says something to his kid. She looks at the touring dragon with its I/S tank, Phat risers, 200 tire and her jaw drops!!! As she follows her dad to their truck she keeps looking back, mouth open and wide eyed. Im smiling thinking just another gaucker. They drive by the Valk and she is craining her neck still looking. I think poor girl. Shes only been exposed to the Harley friends of her dad and here is this huge scootter that is not a Harley Davidson. I imadgine the conversation on the way home: Girl...Dad what was that motorcycle back at the restaurant? Dad... I dunno, some jap crap. girl...What kind? Dad...I think its a Honda...a Valkyrie. It sure was nice looking. Why don't we get one of those? I only ride American bikes. But it said Made In America on the seat. Look sweetie, I ride a bike you can feel in the seat of your pants. And I like to sit around the Dealer shooting the breeze while it's in for servicing You mean those Hondas don't need to be at the dealer? Mom says HD stands for hundred dollar. thats funny. Shut up kid, ya bother me. (cranks the radio) http://vrcc.photostash.com/vrcc_15636/blew%20balls.JPG

The best one I've had so far....... I pulled up to a stop light and was waiting for it to turn when I looked to the right and in the lane next to me was a little econo car with this very elderly couple looking at me and my bike. When they saw me look in their direction they BOTH gave me a thumbs up. Then the old man rolled down the window and said "nice bike". That was the best.
