'99 I/S Red/Black

Eden Prairie, MN

« on: July 12, 2010, 07:32:19 AM »

Did you make it back before the rain? We hit it just north of Maiden Rock and it POURED!! Sky was black, frequent lightning strikes, and some pretty loud thunder. We were down to 30 and still could barely see the road. Went through Red Wing to try to stay south of it and managed to avert the worst. What a way to end a 500 miles ride. Some people freak out by this stuff, I personally find it invigorating. Also, I found out that my nice Aerostich suit doesn't keep out the water very well when you forget to close the zippers. Enjoy the trip to IZ. Wish I could go some year, but have other priorities. Google Rockton, wi to see where we rode to yesterday and imagine all the winding, hilly, wisconsin letter roads in between. The fall Slimey Crud Run is October 3rd if anyone is interested. It's a run to Leland, Wi, again via winding, hilly, wisconsin letter roads. Great fun, but a long day for sure, at least 550 miles from Eden Praire (MN) and back.

T.P.  It looks like you may get wet Weds. on your ride to Escanaba.  We had planned on meeting you at Forest Lake, but have decided to try and get ahead of the rain by leaving early.  Ride safe!
