I know that one of the popular upgrades on the Valkyrie is to change to #38 slow jets. I was wondering if anyone had ever tried #40 slow jets? Thanks,  John

Why would you when 38 is about as rich as you would want to go?

Many of us who changed to 38s have reduced the pilot screw to 1 3/4 out instead of 2 1/4 to 2 1/2. A larger jet would reduce the pilot adjustment again. It can get to the point where the pilot screw adjustment is just too small and prone to mistake.

without aftermarket exhaust and airbox mods it will be to rich esp. at idle.

go to tech section of  www.factorypro.com many good carb tunning articles. there is one about pilot jets and their tunning. any pilot can be opened up to 4 1/2 turns after that next larger size required.
