Is there an equivalent elsewhere? Was at the stealer tonight and was told, get this $47 a tube??? Could that be right??? I asked twice...

Are you talking about the front driveshaft splines, or the drive splines between the final drive and the wheel? Neither need any $47 lube. Read this recent post for lots more info:

I use their paste and grease. their paste has the highest moly content I could find.

Belray or Gaurd Dog either will work well and the price is 10 to 12 dollars

I've been using this for years bike has 120 thousand miles on it. One tube last a very long time.
