If you left your Big-Ass-Metal-Pin-Thingy on the Oklahoma Turnpike, me and my back tire would like a word or two with you... Plugged it. Story there. Changed routes. Another story there. I made it (eventually) to Bellaire...which actually IS where I was aiming for…so I'm on the plus side... More later (laptop is sort of “crunchy” at the moment...so maybe no more later…till later...ya know? Inzaners! Woohoo!

Shoulda put the Ride On in that tire, for it's metallic object repellent properties...

Do not take it out! It's the new tire balancing method. Much easier than dynabeads.

I was driving through OK on I40 a few years back when one of those reflectors embedded in the road came loose. It was kicked up by the car in front of me. I swerved but of course didn't miss it. This things have 2-3 inch spikes in te bottom of them. It took me and 5 other cars out before a trooper was able to get traffic stopped so he could remove it from the road way. Why do I say all this - It's a conspiracy I tell ya! They are trying to drive tire sales in Oklahoma!!!!

hmmm...that kinda looks like one of those trailer hitch lock-pins. I checked. It's not ours (phew!) Glad you've got a good plug kit, at least. We picked up a Stop-n-go kit with 'shroom plugs at Americade. Wouldn't have helped us in Arkansas but I feel better anyway.

that is a standard hitch pin. you don't have all the pieces. that one looks like what they use on a bulldog brand trailer hitch. go to any farm store (tractor supply, atwoods, ace, even lowes) and you can find a match. that does suck though.

Maybe he can find the rest on his return trip. Hope not.

First guy never stands a chance. I posted this a while back (from a car, not a bike) and someone else posted that he had removed an entire tire iron from a truck tire. In the photo below, the screw went in head first.

I lost a pin exactly like that that I used to hold the gate to my trailer. If I hadn't already gotten a replacement I'd ask for that one. I don't think mine made it from AL to OK.

The last pucture I had was on the Harley.
New Tire.
Dry wall screw, Head First into the Back Tire.
Noticed it was low at Hungry Mother's State Park in Virginia.
Plugged and road on it for 4,000 miles.
HOW DOES A DRY WALL SCREW GO IN HEAD FIRST?
Like your pin a minor distraction for all riders.
Glad you did not Wreck it,,,,,,,,,,, instead.
