Leaving Friday AM for a little ride south to Catulla, TX where we meet to leave Saturday AM. We will be going south and crossing into Mexico at Laredo. At present there are four of us going to do a week of riding. Our itenerary can be viewed at http://www.bogriffinrides.com/html/Mexicomay
One of the first stops we plan on making (probably Sunday) is a visit to Real de Catorce. A small town at 9,000 ft. elevation. The Road to Catorce looks as it is going to be interesting and slow to say the least. About 15 miles of hand laid cobblestones. These are some pictures on google earth. And not to be the the only interesting feature there are a couple tunnels to get there. But what I hear it will all be worth it to arrive at the destination. Bo will be uploading pictures daily and you can see our progress and pictures at Bo's web site. www.bogriffinrides.com click on the Mexico link and see his pictures daily. You can also track us by clicking on his link to his StarTrax and logging in. Name: griffin Password: griffin Adios Amigos

Jeff, I think I am going to have some tee-kee-la tonight to get me in the correct mental state for a ride to Mexico. Naaa, not really. I think I will look at more pics of the areas we are going to. That will get me in the right frame of mind. Saturday, after crossing the border and just south of Monterey we are going to take the first mountain excursion along a road we know eventually turns into dirt and we are going to have to turn around. But, along the way is some really cool stuff. Canyons and waterfalls like this one. Horsetail falls just west of Santiago. Adios Amigos

Have a great trip and say Hi to Marco if you're in his neck of the woods. He'll have some good riding ideas for you.

Thanks Terry. I had been to Bo's site several times and the photo links did not work in Safari. I just figured they had not posted yet. Firefox works on his site just fine. ~Jeff

Having a great run thru mexico. Check out the first two days on Bo´s website. We are in Guanaguato this evening and the town is simply amazing. There are tunnels running under town to get around. Kind of like a motorized subway with splits, curves and arches everywhere. There should be some pic´s posted tomorrow of this amazing place. It has been a real hoot so far. No trouble and everyone has been helpfull and very friendly. I brought 2 lbs. of tootsie pops for kids and you should see there faces beam when I start handing out tootsie roll pops. They all seem very appreciative.

Back home Saturday at 1:30. I won't be boring you with more pictures here as there are a bunch on Bo's site. I hope everyone enjoyed Bo's site as our adventures continued thru Mexico. This is the first long adventure with Bo and I can't tell you how pleasurable it was to ride with him. Every day he took the time, sometimes late at night, to gather pictures from all of us, prepare pictures for posting, prepare the the web page and if we didn't have internet access at the hotel find someplace that he could get connected to update the web page. A lot of work after a long days ride.
I really don't know how to tell everyone how much I enjoyed Mexico. The scenery was astonishing. The people were friendly and helpful even to four gringos that had to muddle thru spanish with our broken language. But even with the language barrier a smile and hand shake is universal. Some of my best remembrances will. without question, be the kids and their smiling faces. Even though very poor in worldly goods they smile and have a genuine curiosity about those gringos on two wheels. The tootsie-pops I took really were a huge hit. I gave away several pounds of them and the second day I finally got one of those kids to understand that I wanted to know what they called a sucker. From that point on I always got to ask if they wanted a "pablito". The pablito's really broke any apprehension the kids had and always got a genuine smile and "thank you".
A great trip; one I will remember for a long, long time.

The Pablito Gringo or "Gringo del Pablito" maybe??? I REALLY enjoyed your trip too - more than you and Bo realize! Thank you, Bo for all the work put into posting during your adventure! I look forward to more stories. Glad everyone is home safe! Any buzz yet on the next adventure? ~Jeff
