In a new column at National Journal it is noted that if the economy proceeds as it has over the past four months, the U.S. will gain more jobs in 2010 than it did in George W. Bush's entire presidency.   cooldude cooldude

I guess you can tell whatever story you want with numbers depending on when and how you count.

This administration has killed more jobs than its created, and the numbers are very fuzzy........

Obama said if we didnt approve his stimulous plan unemployment would go to 10%.  He said his plan would keep it below 8%

Now we have some states/cities at 14% and the national average close to 10%

I guess that means if we did nothing it would have been a little better than trying to spend our way to prosperity.  Ya, try that at home.......get out that credit card and see how it works for you

The numbers are always fuzzy when they don't support what you (mistakenly) believe.

If Obama subtracted all the "jobs" he "created" for the census, his job creation numbers would REEELY be in the red.  I know a couple of these workers, they get hired and fired many many times, each time its a "new job" What a joke

And the census has to happen by law......whover signed that law should get all the credit for those jobs

I gotta qoute Judge Judy 'don't pee on my leg and tell me its raining'

millions on unemployment, millions more U6 under employed are going to disagree with those numbers.

my best bud out in Oregon has been unemployed for 2 years, locally 14% unemployed.

democrats are largely anti business, a president as radical as this one is UBER anti business.

don't worry though the jobs being created are in government/public sector.  the IRS in particular comes to mind.

Gee, I thought a chart that simple could be understood by most everyone...wrong.

You see, it says "number of jobs lost".  You might also notice that since Obama took office those losses get smaller.

It takes a special person to say it's because census workers get fired and rehired a lot...uh....when they get hired again it's a new job????  But then every time they get fired that would be a lost job right?  whew.

And because someone's "best bud" is out of work the national bureau of labor statistics is wrong? By the way, the repubs think your bud is a drug addict or he prefers unemployment to a job.  That's why they fight against extending unemployment benefits.

wow

No, lets go back and let the repubs in power again...yeah good times are a comin!  Who the hell do you think got us in this financial mess? Reagan tripled the national debt and then Bush and the repugs doubled it on top of that!!!!

Just do a tiny bit of fact checking when the bozos start inventing crap or trying to re-write history.  It's a good thing.

Maybe we should Audit the fed and see where all this money is going, Looks like we have a Independent here in RI that may push both of the other parties aside this next election, How about a JFK Democrat ? where have they all gone ? He would have my vote! but anyone that talks Monetary policy, will have their head will explode. Just curious Scanner....a thought, My father RIP, was a Engineer Rockwell Int, i remember him being laid off in the sixties once, he had 6 weeks to find a job, and if he could prove he was looking he might get a extension for 6 more weeks, i remember how hard he Beat the streets to find whatever he could and he found work, People right now have been out of work for over 2 years and the house just passed 2 more years for the unemployed, Is this a good thing? or just a new entitlement ie welfare program? A lot of people have fallen of the Unemployment rolls, and have gave up. What is the answer ? time to clean house Both sides! you should feel the same about your party as i did when i was a Repup, It's no longer about Party lines it's about survival, people are sick and tired of party line politics. we need change alright not more welfare programs!

Wow!!!  Very sobering and enlightening.
Somebody spent a lot of time breaking this down by every county in the country.
Review this Unemployment map of the United States .
This is hard to believe! I had to review this map a couple of times to grasp the enormity of it.
Displayed this way sure brings the perspective up close and personal.
This is scary. If you have a job, be thankful!
Be certain to click the PLAY button in the middle of the map
and take note of the dates above the US map as it advances month by month! ! !

This is a cool Google link where you can compare unemployment data for the past 20 years.  The link will select St. Charles County, MO, but you can select as many states and counties you wish.

Even though I have a Black Belt in Six Sigma statistical analysis, I’m not sure what this chart means.  The title states “Jobs Lost”, yet the graph shows mostly negative numbers.  A negative loss would normally mean that jobs are gained.   This chart shows that jobs were gained at a near linear rate during the Bush Administration, and then lost at a similar rate during Obama.

I copied the graph from Scanners link since he started the post. I don't have a black belt in anything,  but just because some journalist reports something in a paper that gets put on the internet doesn't mean it's all together true whether it supports my position or not.

Scanner, Lean back away from the Kool Aid and lay down that Fattie you are obviously toking on.

You are simply having a flashback and are completely out of control.

The detox center should be your next stop and welcome back to reality at that point.

So all is forgiven it is just the state you are in at this point, state of denial.

Although Barrack is asking his girls to start Baby Sitting to know what is like to earn a living.

Who says he does not create jobs, there are two right there.

Hey, when someone charges all your credit cards to the max and leaves you with the damage their crawling back under the rock doesn't pay off the bills.  Sorry, but that's reality.  Come visit some time!

But going with your "logic", 911 was all Bushes fault - correct? I know how the wingers cried mightily that it was Clinton's fault, but no, it was Bush / Cheney alone - correct?

lol, and Al, sorry, but your "credibility" is not exactly...uh...you ain't got none bro.

As to the credit card reference, I guess maxing out 10 more credit cards as the answer to the previous wrongs is the way to go????  Roll Eyes
I think I'm visiting reality fairly well!

Just because we {conservatives} are critical of the present moron's actions does NOT mean we were happy with GWB's actions. We are able to look ahead a bit. Bad policies & decisions in response to past failings does not justify what is going on.
It's not a baseball game where "keeping score" with another administrations performance is the answer. That is living in the real world.

Junior this is for you.

Big Al says numbers don't lie but Politicians make a living at it.

Can i get an Amen.

17% Unemployment in most of Tennessee.

17% in Harry Reeds own State of Nevada and they lead in Unemployment at this time, just passed

Michigan.

I guess people took Obama's advice and did not go to Nevada and mainly Las Vegas per our

Predsidents advice.

Under employment is rampant , due the fact people like to eat.

1 Million home forclosures this year, average is usually 100,000 .

Facts don't lie but wishful thinkers like a certain person do.

Dems are good people and so are Republicans and Independants and we need to pull together

to get people back to work cause Health Care won't do them any good if they starve.

basic principles are at work here.

Not rocket science, tax the business owners more they hire less people, less people working then you get less taxes going to

Washington, duh.

Deficits get bigger and borrowing is not a never ending stream, guess what they cut you off

after a while and then charge you higher rates after that.

Wow I must be a genius, or people are unwilling to tackle the problem head on.
